Day 38 - NO GAMBLING
Hey 2012
Congrats on the 38 days and thanks for joining the challenge!!
You're doing great mate and should be proud of achievements. I know it's the time of the year that we usually reflect on the past, however, if we continually look in the rear view mirror then eventually we'll crash into a ditch. Keep your eyes on the road in front of you mate...........the way I'm thinking about is that if I was driving from Glasgow to London at night I'd only ever be able to see a hundred yards or so in front of me at any given time.......but if my eyes are on the road in front then I'll eventually get there safely. And soon after that, the sun will rise and I'll be able to see everything around me.
All the self exclusions, cash/savings hard to access and stuff help reduce the distractions and help you focus on what's in front rather than what's behind.
2014 is going to be your year........it's within your gift to make that happen.
I'm right behind you (but you keep looking forward!!).
Remember to celebrate your victories and be proud - you deserve to.
Mr Brightside
Hey Mr B
Thanks mate for your post! Really inspiring!!
Funny you mention driving from Glasgow to London, i now live in Glasgow but i used to work in London and every now and then i did that drive! I don't miss it haha..
You are right though and its a good analogy.. only one way to look now and that's ahead! for sure.. i think that's one of the biggest crux's us compulsive gamblers struggle so hard with.. reflecting and thinking about what happened in the past which only leads to beating ourselves up, etc.
Cheers again Mr B, i'm looking forward to your challenge and encouraging you and everyone else on it to keep on the right road in life!
Cheers
Day 39, 40 - NO GAMBLING
Day 41, 42, 43 - NO GAMBLING
Still right behind you on that road mate - will always be chasing you, so don't ever fall.......
Keep it going and well done,
Mr Brightside
Cheers Mr B!
I'm as determined as ever!!
