Big congratulations mate for hitting treble figures. Many try, few succeed. Yet more important than this is to stay bet free when your family are away. This has been a trigger in the past so if you can get through this then you'll only get stronger.

Keep enjoying your recovery, stay proud.

Steve

Thanks Duncan and Lazarus.

Day 100 is up, and I feel so proud of myself. Been doing nothing all day just relaxing. Did go and sort of the food shopping for the week, it's going to be a struggle financially this month but I'm living a normal life.

Now onto my next target of 150 days.

Cheers everyone 🙂

Hey Wilsy

Just want to say a HUGE congratulations to you on such a tremendous effort on your part to reach 100 days gamble free. You must feel so good about that and really happy.

You may not have much money but you can certainly celebrate within - knowing that you do not carry the stress, anxiety and physical symptoms that gambling brings with it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and well done.

Take care.

Feb.

DAY 101

Thanks Feb and Shiny. Today has passed much easier, no real gambling thoughts but those thoughts are in the background and will continue to be on guard.

Got a Chicken tikka Misala and Naan in the other, this cooking business isn't going to be fun, just got to get by, buying dinners for myself is going to hit the old pocket for the next 4 months, but having the house to myself is worth it.

Going to London with my boss tomorrow so early night after Game of Thrones tonight

DAY 102

Wow Duncan what a post, that really touched me and you are such a great influence on not just me but many others on this website.

I myself am a little slack at posting on others diaries, in all honesty it isn't deliberate but I rarely spend long on this site nowadays and more enough stay focussed on my own progress. There are half a dozen to a dozen I read but don't always comment on.

Today I've been out with the boss and basically watched him do all the work, which breaks the week up lovely.

The weather has been gorgeous and the guinea pigs are out in their run, having a munch on the grass. Bless them.

No gambling thoughts today, I would just like to add for anybody who watches 'Games of Thrones', episode 9 last night was amazing, a real jaw opener. What a cracking TV Series, absolutely love it.

Day 103 completed.

Got an appointment to go visit my beloved Crystal Palace on Friday to discuss their future signage requirements. Really made my day knowing I'm going to have a good nose around 🙂

Andy.

Fella that's great news regards the sinage, i can imagine they will be well pleased, funny how life dishes up good things, at times when we don't go looking for it.

Keep enjoying it.

As for your contribution to the forum, keep doing what works for you.

Recovery is bespoke.

And every day you are gamble free that's the best it can be.

With honour and respect.

DAY 104 - Gamble free

Day 2 - No smoking

Thanks Duncan and Charlotte. The visit to Palace has been put off until Monday unfortunately was looking forward to an easy day tomorrow. Oh well.

Second day of not smoking, it's not easy, I could go out and by a packet now and enjoy them, but will persist. I enjoy smoking though but have given up for 3 years in past so can do it again.

No gambling thoughts which is good.

Andy.

One thing at a time fella !!

Smoking is without doubt the hardest thing i ever gave up, i went to the doctor and got help, the gum worked for me, chewed like and for twelve weeks and now chew a minimum of a pack of regular gum every day lol.

I smoked a good twenty a day for twenty years, my motivation was purely financial. Scary how much a pack is today.

The most important thing is my friend is your happy and gamble free!!

Enjoy your weekend. Hope you have something good planned.

DAY 106

Thanks Duncan. Done nothing today which is quite nice. Done all the washing now just watching the end of the U21 Football (Dire) then onto a film.

Money is very short partly because I don't want to use the credit card, going to raid the freezer in a bit for some scraps :-).

Yo

Well done mate for staying strong .

As for the smoking , I tried patches , hypnotherapy , will power all to no avail.

At present have knocked my smoking down from 20 a day to 20 a week . Done this using electric f**s , and have not smoked at work in over a month .

Might be an idea ??
