I went to a ga meeting tonight, at least three people there live in my town and they have all said that they would come when the new meeting opens.

So i am pleased that i wont be sitting there on my own.

Also I am going to be chairing the ga meeting i went to tonight the week after next for a month, so that should give me a bit of experience.

so all in all it is looking good and there should be a new ga meeting up and running in the southwest soon.

Things are still going well as I enter my eleventh month of non gambling.

Celebrating my 18th wedding anniversary today, god knows how Jackie has put up with me for this long!!

But she has and i am grateful to her for all the support that she constantly gives me.

Moved a step closer to getting a venue for the new Ga meeting today. So hopefully it will be up and sorted soon.

I didnt realise just how much work is involved with getting this set up, but i am ploughing through it all one step at a time and it will happen.

I'm so excited about your meeting...I can't wait to hear about them once you get up and rolling...is good news that there are others that have expressed an interest in attending...my guess is...once the 'word gets out' that the meeting exists you'll have more than enough attendees.

sad but true.

but Jim....i am so thankful for people like YOU...imagine how many thousands of people..across the world have taken this step...i imagine that MANY of them faced similar fears and obstacles as you are...but I'm so thankful they did..so grateful that when I finally decided to attend a meeting..it was there 🙂

here..we have something called 'intergroup' which is kind of 'over' the local groups...orders materials together (saves on postage) etc. do you have that there? if so, will you be able to join intergroup (where you are attending meetings now?)

I am not that familiar with 'intergroup' but, having just reached 90 days...have been asked, for my 'service to g.a..' to be the 'group service rep' to intergroup...i will meet once a month with intergroup and will represent my home-group...i will have a vote (on behalf of my home group) and will report back any relevant news to my home group at our next meeting. This Thursday will be my first intergroup meeting 🙂

love to you Jim

thank you for YOUR service 🙂

Off to a regional GA meeting tomorrow...looking forward to that.

I am chairing the exeter meeting next Tuesday for the first time (I have agreed to chair it for a month) so I am a bit worried about that but I am sure it will go ok.

Meanwhile the search for a venue for the new meeting goes on. I was getting a little fustrated as it is taking so long but then i realised that this is my compulsive nature kicking in, wanting everything NOW!!

so i have chilled out a bit and will be patient. It will happen eventually.

Well I chaired my first meeting at the exeter ga last night. i was very nervous but it seemed to go ok, apart from forgetting nearly everyones names!

I am chairing next weeks meeting too before the new meeting starts next wednesday.

thank you to everyone for all the support you have given me, and i will try and catch up with peoples diaries when i get home from work tonight....I have just been so busy with trying to get this new group up and running that i havent had time for anything else.
