Dear Diary, 16th August 2023
I will update you on my progress every day.
I am a gambler of 8years and I have lost above £100,000 on gambling in all these years.
I gamble every day I get paid and I always lose every thing. It has affected my marriage and relationship with my son but today I have decided to embark on a journey which I know won’t be very easy😢
I will update you on my progress daily and hopefully someday I will be gamble free.
Day 1 - Spoke with and adviser and installed Gamban on my phone. The journey to stop gambling begins though I gambled in the early hours of today after I got paid so I’m broke now😅
Keep coming back
Hi there DT and welcome.
We all start from somewhere and that somewhere is here and now.
It’s great that you’ve come here, to the Diaries, starting one up, and chatting to Gamcare too.
As you doubtless are aware, the first thing to do is recognise there’s a problem, and you’re well aware of that. It’s an important step.
Next is understanding the impacts, ditto.Â
Now there’s the willingness to do something about it. Why? It’s to have a better life in so many different ways.
And so it’s about embarking on a strategy. You’ve put it a good step, that is, blocking software. That’s a start… good blockers are key.
Maybe you would find it useful to understand why (like so many of us) you were bitten by this bug in the first place? What might help is talking about, again, maybe with Gamcare, or how about the Chat room. It’s open for one hour at various times of the day and night. Perhaps arranging for free counselling might be helpful to you. (Just a few suggestions put your way here!)
These are just very early steps you may wish to think about. How do you feel about all this? It’s great you’re here though. Very good decision. Â
You can do it!Â
Seems that you didn’t come back to do a diary hope you’re not gambling again mate
Affected by gambling?
