fella never give up on giving up.

You self excluded, a huge well done for that, you paid a debt well done for that.

Ok you had a punt, learn from it, you did, you walked away.

Fella look at the bigger picture, you made a choice

You have self excluded from all those bookies.

Today you therefore cant have a bet!!!

For that be very proud.

Today you took control, you can only benefit and learn from that.

Well done fella, I look forward to you continuing with your progress.

Fella I am here as an equal my friend, today you did something amazing.

Off the back of yesterday's self exclusion's you have given yourself a gamble free day today.

Tomorrow you face the same choice, me I do believe in you, all it needs now my friend is you to BELIEVE in yourself.

You can do this, today you became a winner, ironic I know, do yourself a huge favour stay there.

I DID WIN BECAUSE I DID STOP.

Hi imran, been reading your comments on your quest for a gamble free life like we all are here. I totally understand your pain falling back in that trap. It's not how much you lose it's that first bet. I have been trying too quit constantly for the past 15 years. Few months off that one bet and your away as bad as ever and honest your addiction is stronger cause the buzz has been away for that brief time an you want it more. Any time I ever stop when I start again a get good luck an always ends in disaster. You seem the way I have been a want too stop so much but deep inside you can't the urge is too much. Never go past or near a bookie as you are tempted straight away an the weakness will beat you. It's like going in with £300 your willing too lose it. Open a bank account for your finances an any extra cash lying over transfer it straight away an it looks like its not there but it is. Think about every day your not in bookies you have won. You will never beat a bookie. I feel your pain am in same position as you. It gets easier am on day 1 but this time am stopping for good. Stop before it's too late, a drug addict or alcoholic will always have an end too there addiction but with a gambler there is no end too our loses you could lose everything twice too 5 times over its so scary. Stay strong a will keep an eye on how your are doing stay on here every day. Once you don't bother one day you will get in a rut again. Hope my experience has helped a bit cheers ally

Day 5

Thank you Allys 1981 and Dunncan for your support.

I travel sometime for work that's how I was able to gamble but I carry no cards with me now and I also carry some photo's with me so I can self exclude myself when I see a bookie.

I only gambled 50pound campare to hunders that I use too.

So I will post much as I can here and I will also me busy for next 2 weeks which will help.

On the postive note I was able to repay two of my debt and just 3 more to go.

Well done imran on paying back your debt. I wouldn't even go into self exclude from theM I would just xclude yourself by just saying you will not go in them, treat the bookies like a bad disease an you must avoid at all costs. I understand it's hard cause there is bookies every where. Every where you turn there is a bookies. If You go in with your stuff to xclude an there is a high chance you will be tempted to have one last bet like you did when you lost the £80 an then you could be back betting again after all the hard work too stop. Stay strong an busy imran there is more too life than gambling your life away. Take your mind of it ie read a book. Stay strong an keep posting an posting on other peoples it really helps an that's why a gave in last time cause i didn't use this site the way it's set up to do. Set up a diary am only post once a week. You have got too be using it all the time.

'I only gambled £50 pounds'

That money is yours to do with as you like fella, but for me £50 pounds is not something to belittle.

With that money you could do a great deal of things, it reads like you justify the gambling by saying you paid off a debt.

Surely the £50 could have paid off another debt??

Bottom line is you can make all the excuses in the world

But the choice is yours.

I know this reads harsh fella but it is the truth, you really do have to ask yourself the question

Do I want to stop??

I hope you make the right choice for you.

Day 8

Had an urge to gamble yesterday but i was able control myself with great difficulty and left town and went straight home to avoid placing a bet.

Also the other day my post was half written sorry for the confusion.

I have some money on my card which is more than enough to get me threw this week and the rest i have transferred it so i am unable to touch it.

This currently has worked for me with my will power.

Nearly end of day 8.

Got paid at 5 and Its been a real battle since with huge urges to gamble.

Luckly I was able to transfer the money into a different account were I can't take it out after banking hours which has helped calm the urges a lot.

I will be clad when I get home and move on to day 9.

Thank you for all your support guys.

Have you considered self exclusion? Trust me it works 100%. Takes away the dilemma of will I won't I! Hope you stick around to experience some good recovery!

Take care
