Mr c.

fella don't do yourself the injustice of not taking the praise yourself for how far you have come in your 80 days abstinence. for me you take out what you put in and regards to recovery my friend you keep adding it with shovels.

your resolve grows daily and the support you give unconditional.

those " gambling goggles" we all compulsive gamblers wear whilst at it, the ones that cloud our judgements and distort our focus, my friend you stamped on yours!!!!!

for that enjoy it and be proud you earnt it.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Yo,

Thank you for your post on my diary .

Your support of so many on here is much appreciated and for that I take my hat off too you .

Some believe as I do , the a lot of people on this site with a sustained length of time in recovery , are regular posters on other threads .

That you get out of this site what you put into it .

You are a prime example of that .

Today my friend be proud not only of your 80 days , but know that you are helping so many others to sustain and build up their recovery .

Keep posting , enjoy what's left of Easter

Shiny xx

I live near a marina and loads of boats coming past today to mark the start of the river year, I love to see all the different types and the strange names some of them have.

Fishing will be a good focus for you as some people use their sport and running and you will enjoy so much knowing the rest of your life is falling into place.

So pleased for you and thank you for your ongoing support much appreciated as always.

xxx

Good mourning everyone,

Today is 84 days gamble free, and I'am very happy to be getting control of my life back. While I was gambling I lost all control, in all aspects of my life. One big aspect was my weight gain in the last two years. I decided yesterday it's time to get back on my healthy eating program starting today. I will have the support of a friend of mine, as he is also wanting to lose weight. We have set a short term goal for each other and a date of June 1 to weigh in. My goal is to lose a minimum of 8 lbs by June 1st. My longer term goal will be 30 lbs in 16 weeks from today. I think that getting my mind healthy and myself physically fit will help me in the long run staying abstinent from gambling. I've done this before, my program that is, so I know what I need to do to reach my goals. It's a whole process this recovery and now I'am ready to start phase 2. No fast food except, for a 6 inch sub from subway will be allowed. If I go to a restaurant I must choose fish or a salad. Nothing deep fried at all. I have emptied the fridge and cabinets of everything this mourning and replenished them with healthy food I bought this mourning. Part of my thinking behind this is to shift the thoughts of gambling onto thoughts of preparing healthy meals for myself and enjoy the process of another challenge, and regain something I lost because of gambling. Thank-you all for your continued support. I wish you all the best in your recovery.

Chicagoguy - 84 days gamble free, 12 weeks well done you, you must feel wonderful. My son will be 84 this week too.

Good news too about the healthy eating regime and that you have someone to work with as well - I'm trying hard to lose weight too, I think I must have been comfort eating this year !! may set myself a goal too for 8lbs by 1st June.

Keep up the good work you are doings so well x

Nice one Chigagoguy, you continue to make great strides and what better way than pushing gambling to the back of your thoughts by bringing your health to the forefront.

Its definitely something im going to put in place shortly, but still got an Easter egg to get rid of first!. All the best.

Guess it wont go to waste either way cause im sure if cant stand eating it the cats will be more than pleased to take over. Lol

Congrats on your days.
