Hey Everyone,

Busy day today, had to go see a eye specialist, guess I got a stye. So on some meds for that along with hot compresses with a washcloth. On the way there starting up my truck and turning my heater on, the blower motor went out. So after the eye doctor went to my mechanic to have him put in a new blower motor. Fun, hey, sometimes it goes that way, I figured with all the fish and veggies I've been eating and drinking pure carrot juice, the last thing I'd get would be a stye. Such is life, take the good days with the bad and keep on steam rolling ahead. Didn't manage to get a walk in been raining all day here, might be able to get one in tonight. Suppose to be a real nice weekend, so I'll definitely get some miles logged on these feet. Got me a whole catfish, in the oven baking right now, stuffed it with fresh garlic cloves and lemons. Should be good. Thanks for the continued support and i wish you all the best in your recovery.

Hey CG

Nice attitude there - sounds like your triumphing over the day's adversities.

I gather from your posts your a bit of fisherman. I like to do a bit of fishing when I go back home (Scotland). Fly fishing - never catch anything but good for the soul nonetheless. And the fish in my case too 😉

Good afternoon all,

Cold day in Chi-town, managed to get a walk in though. We still have a lot of rain in the forecast over the next 5 days. I'am moving out of my place I'am at on April 22, and into my new place. Might take a few days to get my cable and internet up and running at the new place. I'am ready for the move, tackle the next phase of rebuilding my life back. Approaching 100 days on the 17 th of this month. My original therapist that enrolled me into the program, broke his arm about 1 month into my therapy, so he has been on leave since then, and I started seeing a different therapist. Wish I have to say she has been great. Well this next Thursday, will be his first day back since he broke his arm, and I have a 1 on 1 therapy session with him. He will be my 1 on 1 therapist until I'am discharged from the program, and my other therapist I was seeing will be running the group therapy sessions. Looking forward to him seeing my progress, and how far I've come since that first initial phone interview with him, before going in for my assessment. For lunch had Egg beaters with diced sweet onion, mushrooms, orange bell peppers, and parmesan cheese on top. Also a 1/2 of avocado and 2 mini corn tortillas. I have some salmon in the fridge for tonight with asparagus. I hope everyone is doing great and I wish you all the best in your recovery.

Hello all,

Cold and windy today, tried a little fishing today at a local forest preserve, nothing bitting. Nice to get out and enjoy the outdoors anyhow. Should be a busy week getting my things in order for my move. I have group therapy class on Tuesday night and Thursday afternoon I have my 1 on 1 session with my original therapist that enrolled me into the program. Very little thoughts of gambling these days, it's great to not be wasting my time or money in that casino anymore. I hope you all have a nice weekend, and I wish you the best in your recovery process.

Mr.C

my friend you have without doubt taken the bull by the horns in both recovery and now the healthy eating.

I did raise a smile at how many folk this side of the pond would need to Google "egg beaters" as they are not used often here.

Keep up the good work my friend.

Keep enjoying what it delivers.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Good mourning all,

Had a real nice weekend, yesterday went shopping for a couch for my new place I'am moving into a week from today. Found a real nice reclining sofa and a rocker/reclining chair. Having that delivered after I move in. Spent some time with my brother, who lives down the street from where I'll be moving to. That will be real nice to be able to get together more often. Also signed up at a gym, which will be right down the street from me yesterday. Time to start working out on some machine weights, and it will be something else to add to my program. All will help keep my mind off gambling. There's also G.A. meetings within a couple miles of my new place every Monday night and Wednesday nights. I'am planning to start attending those for additional support going forward, and it will be close to me. They actually want you to start before you are discharged. Real busy putting things in order for the move, but I'am very much looking forward to it. I have group therapy session on Tuesday night and 1 on 1 therapy on Thursday this week. I hope everyone is doing great, and I wish you the best in your recovery.

Good luck on the big move. It'll be a positive thing, I'm sure. Thank you again for all the posts you've left on my diary. Really appreciate it 🙂

Had a low period a couple of weeks back and I posted and was happy when you replied. I'm doing well now mate. Thanks again.

Well done on the 14 weeks btw. Hope you're at the point now where gambling will never ever will be an option. I think I'm there myself now. Weird thing is, it's often I wonder how I got so caught up in it. I'm shocked. Very strange business this 'sickness'. Glad you and I am out of it.

Have a good week,

Alex

Good mourning all,

Just had a nice walk this mourning, and I'am eating a healthy egg beater omelet with diced onions, mushrooms and orange bell pepper. Still a bit cold and we've been getting a lot of rain the last week. I'am thinking a couple more weeks before the fishing starts to get good. Just working on getting things in order for my move. I have my group therapy session tonight. I believe I have 2 more of the education group sessions left and then it's just group therapy sessions which our 2 hours long. That focuses more on sharing and support. I hope everyone is doing great, and I wish you the best in your recovery.
