This "I'm not a robot" is really beginning to test my patience now and putting me off writing on mine and other people's diaries! Can something not be done about this?!!

Me too surely once you have logged on that should be enough

Day 45.

So, got a surprise phone call from my doctor yesterday!! Said that she had received one of the blood tests from the hospital, when I was admitted last Friday. This she said, confirmed that I have also got an infection of the blood! All I need. Anyway, cutting a long story short, she asked me to go in for a check over and as my temp and blood pressure etc, were all fine, she said for me to monitor myself and if I do not feel any better by Friday on the anti biotics, I will need to return to the surgery and then she will have to admit me to hospital!! Really hope this is not going to happen! Apart from also having a huge cold sore on my top,lip (no doubt run down from my last gambling few months), I actually felt a bit better today, fingers crossed. Enough of all that stuff.

I did write a huge post the other day, only for me to lose the lot, when I was "wrestling with the robot"!! - mainly wanted to get some mini goals down for next payday and beyond. Here goes:

1. Pay all bills

2. Start putting a little away for my "Christmas food fund"

3. Treat myself to a hair cut/colour.

4. Remain g.f.

My sister is soon to be 60 and she is having a weekend away with her children. What she does not know, is that I am joining them too! It's a surprise! It is going to be a lovely weekend,in a stately Manor House, all paid for (lucky me)! Her daughter said that each person would put £150.00 in the pot so to speak, to pay for food, drink and a chef for the Saturday evening, to cook for everyone. I remember when she told me this a few months ago and I said "yes fine" but thought, "s**t, I might not have that". It's amazing when you're not gambling and losing your money, just how careful you can be with money and how much extra you can save. Anyway, so pleased to say that I have that £150 sitting in my savings account, waiting until my niece needs it in a couple of weeks. This just makes me feel so happy and watching me build this up over time sensibly, has really made me feel good.

I already have my sister's present but I wanted to get her a couple of surprises too (she deserves them, as she has been so supportive emotionally and financially, in a non judgemental way)! Anyway, was laughing to myself when purchasing one of them online as I had to pay £3.95 delivery charge. I can't tell you how I went all round the houses, to look for the same item without having to pay that!! I must have spent at least half an hour before caving in. Caving in to £3.95, for my sister! How shameful. Pity I never thought like that when I was giving 50, 100, 200, 300 pounds at a time, to online gambling sites, oh no, that took me all of about 30 seconds, if that to decide! Anyway, I am pleased to say that I was in a position to buy those extra surprises (and pay the delivery charge also)!! Embarrassed.com!

Aintree tomorrow! I do like tuning into it to watch. Yes I said watch and I am comfortable with that.

Take care all, remain g.f and so will I.

Hi Our lady

Just had a catch up on your diary and keep doing the right things and life does get better albeit some days are very hard ! It's amazing when we don't gamble that we have money there to do things what normal people do and it feels so much better. Keep up the good work and take it one day at a time !

All the Best

Day 46.

I always say "it's good to talk". Having just been on the phone to my TV/internet provider, querying my bill, I have just managed to get them to credit my account with £34.00 as a gesture of goodwill! Extra money in my pocket as "every little helps" - famous supermarket saying!!

Advantages of being g.f and off work sick - I get to start my Christmas shopping online and in the Sale - have now bought 7 Christmas presents and 2 Birthday presents, from John Lewis, all at knock down prices. Result. Like I have mentioned earlier, It makes me feel so much more comfortable and secure doing it like this in advance. I feel it takes away any pressure/anxiety about worrying whether or not I will have enough for these things. So again, going right back to basics and doing what my mum used to do, which was to save/buy a little each month for the things I need. I find it such a nice little challenge to do and it really makes me appreciate my hard earned money again.

I have already worked out my money for when I am next paid and I am going to be on a really tight budget for that month but like I mentioned before, I have survived on next to nothing for a whole month at a time, when gambling so hanging in there for another month will be ok - At least I will be rest assured that all my bills will be paid!

The Worlds biggest race event will be commencing in my home town today. I shall be watching this event - out of pleasure. I do enjoy watching which ladies get it right and which ones get it so horribly wrong! He he. Me in the meantime, will be looking on, stress free and gamble free. For, me, this has been good therapy. For one, I feel good that I can watch these events in a different light and for another, I actually find myself getting somewhat bored after a while!! Blocks are also firmly in place, as an added precaution.

For those of you who may find this event a real struggle, please hang on in there, stay positive and try to remember, it is better to feel comfortable about losing no money through not gambling, rather than gambling and stressing about what the outcome may be.

Take care all and have a safe g.f few days.

Good for you GJ. Enjoy.

Just come across this quote in my Little book of mindfulness:

"Change your life today. Don't gamble on the future, act now, without delay".

Appropriate for all on here I thought!
