That's ok
Good morning
Good Morning Chezzy,
I'm glad you've been able to treat yourself to a new TV. The fruits of not gambling. I hope you continue to progress & thrive in recovery. Be kind to yourself.

Thanks slow...much appreciated.
Good morning Chezzy. Hope you are happy and well.
I was just re-reading your post in "Overcoming Problem Gambling" about the MP who claimed that advertising had nothing to do with gambling addiction amongst children.
It is so infuriating to think that someone in a responsible position in the government would come out with such a foolish statement.
Many thanks for bringing that to my attention.
Wishing you every happiness throughout December.

Good afternoon Chezzy,
Really valued your opening post on this thread.
You are right in my book, I (rather, my loose susceptible addicted brain) is making excuses or giving me reasons to gamble.
I take full responsibility for this and am attempting to always have the final say or decision over the addiction.
It is very complex though; I didn't seek out gambling it was just there for me when nothing else was as a child so yes your point made of "this happened when I was little / this didn't happen when I was little" hit the bullseye in my gambling drama.
Getting conditioned from a very young age has taken me a lifetime of deleting the toxic relationship with gambling. And as I grew older through teens and so on the gambling issue evolved and manifested to continue it's controlling hold over me.
It (gambling) aided by powerful and immoral marketing is a very gripping mix which very deceitfully plants in our own brains the manufacturing process of producing our own drug to feed our our own torture and pathway to despair, desperation and destruction. To be sure. It is a horrible affliction and seedy industry.
Anyways, I'm starting to ramble so I'm off..... Just wanted to say your post has been a 'waypoint' on my own journey of understanding, accepting, resolving terms and, hopefully unfolding a brighter, more emotionally and financially secure gamble free future... Time will tell.
All the best to you.
Never out the fight.
Thanks vile..I can't say too much more as I got banned for a week and had my posts monitored for 2 weeks when I wrote that. But I so appreciate your words.
Hi Chezzy,
Maybe I'm naive or just thick but I've never heard of reversal therapy. However it sounds fascinating & I'd love to know more about it if you can find the time to tell me.
Best Wishes

You're not naive slow..the very basics are that you put exactly the same amount of time and energy into not doing something that you would have done doing it. If ever you want to request my email address I would be more than happy to talk it through.
Hi Chezzy,
Thanks for your reply. I have contacted the forum admin team asking them to forward my email address to you. Look forward to hearing from you.
Best Wishes
