Hi Blues,

Thank you so much for posting on my diary mate. I always appreciate your kind words and support.

90 DAYS! That is massive mate! Well done! That is such a massive number. You will be hitting that century before you know it. Superb progress.

I read a lot of the other diaries on here too mate and it is amazing how well we have all done in our battle with this truly evil addiction. I think now especially there is a great buzz in the air from everyone's diary. We all should be very proud of our achievements because we have all come a very long way.

I too have a new found respect for money again Blues. I find myself spending much less than before and thinking twice about making that impulsive purchase.

At the moment I am still in a lot of debt mate. It is around the £13,000 mark at the moment but I am making some progress with it and I will hopefully be able to consolidate some of that next year. It will make a huge difference in paying it back so looking forward to that.

I can never, ever go back to the dark days Blues. No more from me either Mr Bookmaker. Treasure the last pound you got off me because it will be your last!

Thanks again Blues and I hope your week is going along nicely mate.

Take care,

Micky D

hi blues,

thanks for posting on my diary - i am so happy to say that i turned down a free ticket for "rockbottomville" - i've been there a few times and they were the worst of my life so far.

NINETY DAYS + - well done my friend !! - hard work and real commitment to change have got you here.

I too have a new respect for money, and would love a challenge to see who could get the most stuff for a tenner - i'd give anyone a run for their money !!

have a great weekend

Like Micky D said, 90 is fantastic! Well done!

Keeping to the theme of 90...

...having 90 in my pocket makes me feel like a millionaire.

No, not £90 but 90p!

Yes, us people now have a real respect for money because of what we used to do. And that will put us in great stead for the future.

Have a great gamble-free weekend and please keep making the right choices.

Thanks for the support folks, appreciated more than you will know.

Again good to report quiet weekend on the gambling front.

Played 2 games of football between friday and saturday, body still recovering today! Game planned for this evening aswell!! Might even get fit if I carry on like this!!

No urges whatsoever over the weekend, but had my first gambling related 'test'.

Was in the pub after the game on saturday and someone was selling raffle tickets for a cash prize. Now I know some people would have said ah raffle tickets / lotto is ok, but when I signed up to kicking this habit for good, I know it had to be for everything.

So I said simply 'Nah, I dont want one thanks' and this was met with cries of, come on you tight a**e, everyone else bought one, 'its for a good cause.

I play football with these people and actually only count 3 or 4 as friends, the rest are just lads I know from joining the team.

I had to sit there, laugh it off and give a look of 'f**k you' in their direction. Not one of them knows of my problem, and to be honest I dont want them to either, but this is the first time it has happened and i'm delighted I didnt buckle under the pressure.

Today is day 95 of this constant battle and for today I am on top of things

Take Care

How is it going mate? 95 days, only 5 short of the magic 100, well done mate, you have done tremendously well.

Well done on resisting the urge to buy raffle ticket as well, shows great discipline.

Just a quick update....

Not posting as much as I previously have been as I'm extremely busy with work at the minute (which is a very good thing for a number of reasons 1)stops me thinking of gambling 2) I have a job!!)

Pleased to say, not one gambling urge in the last few days, really am delighted and at 534pm today, I will be 14 weeks gamble free. Today is day 98 of my battle, and i'm looking forward to making it to my initial 100 target. Financially, I am still in a mess with a mountain of debt, but as time wears on, I am not adding to it, and am slowly accepting the debt for what it is. It is there, payments are being met, but it really isn't the be all and end all. Its money at the end of the day and once me and my family have their health, I'm content.

Take Care all

No urges to gamble yesterday, and I'm actually getting used to the fact that I seem to have a few bob in my pocket each day.

This is the bigger achievement for me as when I have stopped previously, I have had nothing in my pocket.

Its my partners birthday this weekend and to be planning it and buying the gifts she wants is a massive change. Normally it would kill me to 'waste' gambling money on presents but now it is actually a pleasure, I will make sure she has a smashing weekend, the one she deserves.

99 days today and it feels bloody good let me tell you.

One day at a time though as the urge may come at any time as it did a few weeks ago,

Take Care

Thanks for the support folks. Nothing to report on the gambling front i'm delighted to say.

Had a smashing weekend and just starting to recover now. I remember this time last year when all race meetings were cancelled because of the snow and it annoyed the hell out of me and I was then gambling on anything that was on the screen. Standing there betting on cartoon racing - shocking.

Really looking forward to christmas now and even though I am working ODAAT, my next target, in my head, is December 25th.

Hope you all have a gamble free day

Take Care
