Hey Ryan,

Very well done for the month g free!! Way to go and you doing fantastic job:-)

Keeping busy is one of the keys to stay away from evil habit..and work can help you with that. As much as i don't like my job( too stressful) it helps me big deal by keeping my mind busy.

Day at a time

Thank you for your support

Keep going strong

Well, day 32 has come and gone, and that's the first month out of the way. The first of many, and as they pile up, I hope it becomes years. But I can't be getting ahead of myself, while I can plan for the future, it is the now that I have to deal with.

Feeling quite optimistic today, was having a laugh with some of the guys at work singing Disney songs towards the end of a shift. I want to be Baloo the Bear with the carefree approach to life, but I know that behind the chilled out bear mask is more of the worrying Bagheera than I like to admit.

It's not enough to be paying off my debt again, I'm planning on how to save and what to do with it. The travel bug is embedded in me, and is a much better way to spend my cash than clicking mindlessly on a mouse.

It's a long rollercoaster before this comes to fruition, but its a nice dream to have.

All the best for the rest of a gamble free week.

Ryan

Just a fly-by to tell you that I loved the Magicians Assistant Poem you put on Sandra's diary. You should put that on the link Blondie started for things that helped you in recovery. "You never know...It just might save somebody!

Day 42. Already regretting not getting my backside on here for over a week, but it was due to positive steps forward not the negative steps backward. Lots of freelance work coming in, and I may well get RSI because of all the typing I've been doing over recent days.

Also I completed the sober October challenge, and broke my dry streak with a good night on Friday, although the hangover on Saturday wasn't too special! I hope everyone is well and still staying gamble free. I will find more time at some point this week to catch up properly, but for now I'm back to work.

All the best folks

Ryan

Hey Ryan - similar to yourself I've not been on much over the last week or two, but all good - day 44 today, so feeling chuffed.

Delighted to hear that your doing well and things are picking up on the work front.

Take care

Hi folks,

Hope everyone's doing well and staying away from temptation. I certainly am...piling up the days and I can't say I've got the urges right now. The only thing I know not to do is not to leave this go, I need to be posting on here to keep my resolve strong and keep moving forward, like my friend duncan says. Just started Day 46 by my maths.

Thinking of those who are having it tough at the moment, despite not getting everything in life, I have more than many, and am too quick to forget that. Meeting up with some friends for the rugby this weekend, it seems as though I quit gambling at the right time, as i would be crying off early with no money when the urge was strong. This week I know I can have a beer or two.

Hope all is well with everyone,

Ryan

Evening All,

Day 50 wasn't a particularly good one....left the flat to go and put some electric on the meter, and when I got back realised that I'd left my keys in the flat. My phone was also in the flat, so after borrowing a step ladder from a neighbour I had to push through the plastic fan in the kitchen window and open it that way. Also managed to *** the glass, so ultimately probably going to cost a fair bit to get the pane and fan replaced.

The rugby was also a little disappointing after defeat, but c'est la vie I guess. Got a few days off work now so I can sort out the window, and maybe get some spare keys knocked up! :P

All the best

Ryan

Today is day 57, and nearly two months under my belt since I last threw away my money on some pathetic online game. I've had two really lazy days and its back to work tomorrow, wish I had more motivation and desire when it comes to doing my freelance work. The window's going to cost more than I want to pay, but less than I feared, and along with a service and two Xmas nights out, it's a long way till next payday.

Anyhow, still keeping my head up, and not feeling too unhappy about things at the moment. I keep working hard, and balancing freelance work with the regular job, and a little bit of overtime, and hopefully I should be in a much better position by March or April.

All the best to everyone, and I hope in a few hundred days to be chasing SA down past the one year milestone!

Hi Ryan,

Just been reading through your diary, I remember you from your previous diary of a year. Good to see that you're back in a good position with you're recovery, 57 days is really good! You also have the experience to know how to take this to a year and beyond!

Keep up the good work and keep strong

Jimbo

Hey Leedso, Thanks for your post to me. Sorry to hear about that window. I am also going to be looking for some extra work in January. I put my name in but won't know until it happens. Just have to make sure I don't blow it as I did last time I did extra work. Managed to get myself shovelled out today. Tough work! Fantastic that you're almost at the two month mark. Keep it up! Best to you!
