Wishing anyway who is reading this a super-duper, fun-filled, happy and contented weekend but whatever the weather and no matter how we feel, the main thing is that we behave with a sense of responsibility and do not gamble.

Thanks for posting on my diary, hope you're having a good weekend too! I'm still GF but find the site a bit awkward since it updated so don't post much but still think of you and others soldiering on. It's still one day at a time but I'm definitely in a happy place. Take care my friend S x

It does feel good to be alive! I am enjoying really simple little things again Stephen like walks in the park and reading and watching movies. Things I just didn't have any time for before. Like I couldn't concentrate for a minute on anything and now I can. It's great!

Hello Diary ....

The end of the month is approaching and I am well aware it is a time when I am at my most vulnerable. It was my intention to give my bank card to someone but there is nobody who is suitable and willing to take on the responsibility. 

Friday is the crunch day and so long as I get through that and the weekend than I feel confident things will be ok.

Many of us on the diaries have experienced losing a months wages on the day we got paid. The feelings one is left with is absolutely horrendous but for some crazy reason we have done the same thing time after time.

Anyway, that is all behind me now.

26 Days Gamble Free - Off  to a place that calls out to me

Living a life and not just surviving with singing n smiling n rocking n jiving

Arm in arm with gamcare friends - they push me up hills and round all the bends

Mashed potatoes, carrots and leeks

Aint had a bet for 4 whole weeks

Singing and dancing enjoying the sun

Gamble free and having some fun

I like to be honest and perfectly frank

My monthly works pension is now in the bank

No urge to gamble and nothing yet spent

But pleased to report I have just paid some rent

Frequently I made mistakes and lived a futile life

Full of good intentions but causing nowt but strife 

Those wrongs are part of history now and must be left behind

Worries that have plagued me are aspects of my mind

Ahead is a door to a meaningful life and it is open wide 

With a smile on my face and hope in my heart I take a look inside

Its early in the morning and I would like to say

Beware of dangers lurking should my thoughts begin to stray

Money in the bank gives me cause for celebration

So let's not go to bookies and risk total degradation

Wakey wakey rise and shine 

Feeling good and day's all mine

No need to gamble or other daft stuff

Might not be wealthy but do have enough

Dentist this morning which might not be fun

But following that I will soak up some sun

Good Morning Diary.

It seems to me that stopping gambling leaves an empty space which needs filling with other things.

I realise that is fairly obvious but thought I would mention it anyway.
