Happy Birthday To Mick Jagger - 76 Today
Â
One of the "Rolling Stones" hits was "You can't always get what you want" and the chorus goes like this:
Â
"You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, well you might find
You get what you need"
Â
Gambling demons call my name but I ain't answering
Avoiding all the betting shops will surely see me win
On this gamble-free mountain since the final day of June
Sun and stars cheering me on - along with my good friend the moon
Â
Time passes by the clock ticks and tocks
Sitting alone in my t shirt and socks
28 days gamble free
I look at my life and what do I see?
Â
Well done - keeping going Stephen!
Â
Best Wishes, Forum Admin
Many thanks to Admin friends for all the support you have given me over the last couple of years.
GamCare and my friends on the diaries have helped me a great deal and although I have relapsed on several occasions I am pleased to say that I have always paid the bills and kept up my debt repayments.
My debt is now only half what it was 3 years ago.
With confidence I can proudly say that my gambling days are over.Â
Â
I was a fool but now I'm cool and sure won't bet no more.
If walking past a betting shop I won't walk thru the door
Â
Together gamcare warriors join arms with admin friends
Pulling each other up the hills and than around the bends
Â
Heading home to freedom whistling a jolly tune
Smiling up at heaven and waving to the moon
Â
Well I have been having a little think and making plans for when I get my monthly works pension on Wednesday.Â
I am not giving my bank card to anyone. Close friends and family have given up on me and I am not giving it to any old tom d**k or harry
A friend told me that he pays for everything using his bank card and only carries 15 quid in case of emergency so that is what I am going to do.

Days since last gambled ..... 30
Ambition .....To remain gamble free and enjoy peace, fun and happiness
Â
Well I am pleased to be 30 days gamble free but the real battle starts tomorrow when my monthly works pension goes in the bank as that is when I have always been at my most vulnerable.

Gamcare Warrior (First Class) Stephen - Standing upright, proud & tall
Wearing my heart upon my sleeve and ready to rock n roll
At midnight tomorrow I will have completed a Gamble Free July and I am pleased with that.
The next couple of months will be a critical stage in my recovery so I am going to post on my diary every evening to celebrate another gamble free day.
I truly believe that my time has come to finish with gambling.
Day 31 GF
When I first came on the diaries I went several months without gambling.
I did it than so I can do it again now.
32 Days since I last had a bet.
I have just completed a "Gamble Free July."
Now for a "Gamble Free August."
Â
I am leaving the diaries for a while.
Stephen
THIS DIARY HAS FINISHED.
