I've been meaning to catch up with you for a while now mate. Absolutely delighted that you're over the month now and that you are winning for the wee one as much as yourself and the rest of your family. There's gonna be a wee tot in the world soon who is going to look a their daddy and be hugely proud......an you'll know that he or she has a lot to be proud about rather than someone who is hiding the terrible secrets of old. Well done mate and keep it up.
There is another significant reason for dropping by. 74 days ago I placed my last bet and my last stake in a FOBT. A completely lost and broken man found this site and read for a week solid - posts, stories, trials and tribulations......honesty and successes.
Eight days later he placed his first ever diary post on. Still lost, disillusioned, sceptical and lonely. 30 minutes or so after that post, a guy called The Bear put a very simple but hugely important reply wishing him luck.
That post gave the new poster hope, it gave him encouragement and it gave him an extra bit of strength when he absolutely needed it the most.

I am Mr Brightside and you are The Bear. Well Mr Bear......I want you to know that I will never forget you whoever you are and will never be able to thank you enough for putting that reply on. You will never know how much that act of selflessness, kindness and encouragement did for me. You have had a profound impact on my life, my outlook, my family, my journey and my possibilities for the future. You are a wonderful person.........and I know that new member of your family is going to see that very soon.

Day 37 spent most of it at ikea and few hundred pound on stuff for new house it felt good really good those things use to be boring actually enjoyed it 🙂 have good evening everyone x

Day 39 thank you Sandra for your post hope your well 🙂 so on to Sunday couple of beers later with good friend have tomorrow off which is nice ante natal class all new to me but enjoying the experience a new life soon here that will count on me I'm getting me ready now and pleased I have the gamble free days behind me 🙂 hope everyone has a nice Sunday x

Day 40 good weekend had 🙂 off to ante natal class this morning 🙂 the baby will soon be arriving 16 days till he's here and moving house Saturday so busy busy busy 🙂 have good day everyone.

Well done Bear for 40 days, it's a great achievment ! onwards and upwards, soon your new gift will arrive and need you for the rest of their life. It is a life long commitment children, be ready for it my friend. Children teach you things about yourself, that you never knew beforehand !

Day 42 early start knackered today no thoughts of gambling small slice of anxiety last night but tough week so I guess should be expected :-/have good day all x

Day 43 not bad If I do say so myself starting to understand what life is about again gambling clouds everything managed to get some savings and able to buy little things when I want, still have debts but will get easier and when not gambling the thought of them is not so demoralising just pay them a little at a time off.
