(((((((ands))))))

Hi ands, big hugs from DT's wife for helping him so much and being such a good recovery buddy!

Am still toying with the idea of having my own diary but it's all still a bit too much for me at the moment.

I genuinely wish you and your boys well and I truly believe that we are all entitled to a second (third, fouth, fifth or whatever) chance.

All the best, K

Day 44, i will not gamble today, thankyou for those posts, they have made me smile and a little cry.

No urge to gamble today, those recent posts on my diary have kicked that urge into touch. I am so glad i never got those scratch cards yesterday.

The evenings are the hardest time for me, thats when the old brain goes into overdrive. Anyway feeling ok today.

Have a good day all, take care. ands

ands,

Just a quick one to say well done! I gave up about the same time as you, and find it hard myself at times.

Thanks for sharing some more of your story with us. I dont think any less of you, everyone makes mistakes.

Keep fighting 🙂

Hi Ands,

When I met you in chat on your very first night on here, I was inspired by the forum for being able to help you to make that start that you needed.

You have done so well since that very dark night when you arrived. It is a roller coaster, but worth taking the ride. The ups and downs are huge in this journey, but as you get further into recovery you learn how to deal with them. Time has to pass in order for progress to be made as all the bad things can't be undone quickly. Just takes time.

But you have done great, so keep up the good work. Your motivation is huge, so hang onto it.

All the best.

Weldy

Hi ands,

I trust your good and the boy's are keeping you busy, i ain't got my Lil one this weekend, shes off camping with her mum, only a couple of days but I'm going to miss her.

Just wanted to take the opportunity to say it's been a pleasure to be part of your recovery so far, we all draw inspiration from each other here, and more than just the gambling it's helping me understand me and life a little better. Keep going my friend i would like to be a part of your recovery and you mine for some time to come.

have a great gamble free weekend if i don't catch you before.

Day 46, i have not and will not gamble today, thankyou for the posts very much appreciated.

Had busy day yesterday took boys up to nature reserve, free enjoyable day out. Have a date now for counselling which starts properly on the 2nd september.

No urges to gamble today, the urges seem to come quick and when im not expecting it, but i have too much to loose so gambling is not going to happen, at all, permanently...........

Boys out til 4 today so gonna do some housework and i have a heap of ironing to do.

Have started reading in the evenings and spending more time listening to some of my old favourite drum and base cd's, music, reading and cooking are going to be my hobbies.

My sons are so sweet this morning my eldest son brought me a cuppa in to me, it was made with cold water lol! the effort and thought was there tho! I LOVE MY SONS SOOO VERY MUCH.

My thought for the day is that, money cant buy love, i have the love of my sons, the most important thing in the world...

Take care all, ands

Hi Ands,

Good to hear you feeling more positive but not complacent about the gambling urges, you are doing so well with your ongoing recovery.

Enjoy the housework and perhaps its time for some kettle training for your boys!

Having said that, I am 40 years old and not house trained myself, so its not like I should be giving advice.

You should be really proud of yourself for the strength and resolve you are showing.

Take care.

Hey ands.

Back on this site after a slip up/mess up/f*** up/whatever you want to call it.

I happened to read your diary first, although I don't know why. Didn't read all the comments of others, only yours. Well done mate, for everything over the last several weeks. Took guts to come clean about the work thing. You've also taken a good few kicks. But you're still standing and still not gambling.

Thanks for posting. It's helped me this evening.
