Hey old buddy. Good to here from you. I am on my way to better mental health. Have stopped working for about 6 months. Bit of a breather after 40 years.

Moving back to Reading at some point this year. Not so far from London so hoping for a meet up and a beer. A new and hopefully positive chapter in my life.

Anyway glad things are going OK.

Hi ands

I have been with you all the way on your diary. At some point you stated it was too late to kick this addiction! Looks like, to me, it's never too late. You should be proud of your recovery and keep moving forward. More of this great life will be revealed if you carry on in the same vane. Take care

Sounds like you are in a great place still - don't worry about those little gambling thoughts.

As long as you are screaming "NO!" to them in your head, you'll be fine.

Keep up with the great work you are doing.

Been a little while since posting, thanks SA and Freda for your posts, always appreciated!

Been over a month since last posting and i have not gambled in any form whatsoever. I approaching 3 years on the forum now (like a marriage this, only this is lasting longer, lol!) still remain at 2 slip ups in this time. Have now been gamble free for well over a year and i march on to my target which is end of october....then i rethink my strategy!

Gambling defo has no part in my life but still get fleeting urges and the odd fruitie dream where i win sooo much, NOT!

Anyway life is pretty stable - normal i guess.

Day of work the sun is shining and i have been doing some gardening, next job paint kitchen when then urge to paint grabs me!!!

Boys are doing great, eldest doing well in secondary school and youngest is obsessed with the smurfs. Bless!!!

Im off, dribble over will post again on my 3yr annisversary on this forum (end of june).

bye for now, ands

ps thanks to everyone who has supported me, couldnt have done it without my cyber friends.

Thanks for your posts, been quite a while since posting!!

Still gamble free, been on this forum for over 3 years now.

Been gamble free now for roughly 15 months and slowly but surely approaching my target of october (18 months gamble free). That will be then my record for well over 20 years, this target means sooo much to me. When i pass it, i will then revise my strategy and proceed on to the next target.

My life is far from perfect but it is so much better than it was back in those dark days of living a life as a cg gambler! I have not stolen anything for over 3 years too, have always got food and i no longer look like a tramp. I am gaining self esteme and confidence and becoming the father who any child would be proud of.

I am now on no medication, and have gained 3lb of weight. I eat a steady diet and only get weighed once every 3 months now.

My sons are doing great and the 3 of us are happy and my life has never been better!

Still think about family and ex friends, they still think im a disgusting individual but i do not. i f***** up for many years, but i changed and with hard work anyone can!

till my next post, take care all. ands
