Top work Gazza.
Less than two weeks away from a big milestone.
Guard against complacency and keep stepping forwards.
D123
Day 354 and 355
Made it to GA last night and today I'm better for the experience.
D123- yes we must guard against complacency.
I avoid carrying cards-when i do it's for a specific reason-petrol etc.there is very little money in my account at any one time The majority of my salary goes to my partner-she is happy to handle our finances
Hope everyone is well
Day 365, 357 (51 weeks) and 358
It's one year ago that i truelyhit rock bottom. A crazy day of utter self-destruction. i should of seen it coming but as a CG i couldn't see it 'til it was all too late.
I was in a daze-didn't know who or where to turn to.
i was in desperate need of help.
Next Monday I'll be 1 year gamble -free.
I got help from GA and Gamcare.
As this week passes, I'll remind myself of how i felt then and how i feel now.
Gazza
my fellow compulsive gambler. A week from today your resolve to arrest your addiction will see you a year gamble free, something truly amazing and something to be proud of fella. You have put your heart and soul into your recovery and i hope you continue to enjoy the benefits of those efforts. You my friend earnt it.
We will share the compulsive gambler label for life, just for today we through our efforts share the best thing a compulsive gambler could gift themselves.
We get to put that hollowed word at the fore.
"Recovering"
A label worth keeping.
Well done keep making that choice to better your tomorrow.
Duncs stepping forward never back.
Day 359
Thanks again dunc.
I'm ok today
Great achievement Gazza, wonderful to see you are nearing that one year mark. Please give yourself massive credit on what you are achieving, we are very good at beating ourselves mentally senseless when we slip but not so good at recognising the amazing thing we do each and every day we dont place a bet. It's also more than ok to have bad days, just because we dont gamble doesn't mean life cant be unbearable in other ways
Take Care

Duncs stepping forward never back.
Day 361 and 362
Well a tough couple of days.
A good friend of mine hit a low period in his life and is now in hospital getting looked after.
I went to GA last night and again I'm stronger for the experience.
We MUST really take care and watch out for those closest to us.
Hope evryone has a nice weekend.
Day 363,364 and 365-1 year
Well I've made it to 1 year gamble free. 1 year ago i was in pieces. Last week i read my diary, in particular the first few weeks of writing/recovery- vivid, brutal memories came hurtling back. I NEVER want to experience those feelings ever again.
Thanks to my loving partner and children-you are everything to me.
Thanks, especially to Dunc, and other Gamcarers, you know who you are, for all the encouragement and advice you have offered. Finally, thanks to all at GA who have helped me over the last year.
Onwards... 1 DAY AT A TIME
Hey Buddy,
May I say a massive congratulations on reaching this outstanding milestone! It is unfortunate that so few people manage to get here and beyond but at the same time it also makes your own achievement that bit more remarkable! The combination of this diary and GA has served you well and that one day at a time philosophy has once again been proven to be hugely effective!
Onwards into year 2!
Flagg
Gazza.
My friend I congratulate you wholeheartedly upon making it one years living without a punt. A time in which you have never faultered from the task ahead and always strived to make yourself a better person.
A man of few words, but those words have often spoken volumes fella, for that today I will raise my glass to you and say a massive well done.
One day at a time, my friend and lets continue to move forward on this fantastic journey we are upon.
It has been a pleasure.
Duncs stepping forward never back.
Just flying by to say a massive well done. Such hard work but such an achievement.
