The value of money has hit me

Spot on so true. I have bits of money and change all over the flat..where as before I'd be lucky to get a pound together on a Sunday.

So true.  What I noticed was how money started to lose its value while I was gambling.  Going back a few years while I was sports betting, I was averaging 250-300 loss a month.  The last year it has been slots....what a downfall.  250-300 would be the loss just for day!  I have lost so much money this year.  So ashamed of myself.

It’s a good point actually ? yes you are perfectly right. 
Today is my 48th day GF & I am slowly putting small amounts of money a side rack month which feels great. 
For so long I associated gambling as a form of income for example...placing a £500 bet on football at 1/5 odds to get £100 back & then thinking if I win that £100 is my weekend money, but 9/10 that never happens & the £500 is lost. 

Sadly the pain of losing a massive amount of money will always stay with me, but we have to look forward & put it down to a life lesson. 

Each day does get easier, so please people who are only a few days gamble free, please stay determined, disciplined & dedicated to your recovery as the first weeks are the most important. 

Let’s beat this before it beats us. 

Can totally relate to that, c17.  I would hit  atm and then proceed to put 200 on a odds on fav and think it will pay for my betting next few days and I would then lodge the initial 200 in bank next day.   200 is gone and then the chase is on , and another visit to atm.

Yes its one of the strong signs we are coming to our senses. Money will be about in our accounts and homes.

Its a strange feeling at first as we come to terms with it. Its also seems more money than we thought we could save/have spare at our income level.

Deep down I do have a careful ability with money. It was something the addiction completely squashed.

I look at money now and cant believe it was me that chucked it away on the push of a button. I used to feed it into note grabbers like it was nothing but blank pieces of paper!

Use it as  a strong sign but there are other things you must keep talking through to never be complacent again

Thanks for the reply.  I completely get your thinking with the losses but you just have to own them, hard though I know.  You sound be so proud of your self that you have stopped and the fact you are ashamed of the losses really means you Truly know the value of your losses know

your so right how we can save more money now though when thought we had.  The worry of needing more money which I think lead to gambling is a miff in its self as the only thing I needed to do to win was stop
