Hi,
I’m 30 years old, I have been gambling for around 12 years, there has rarely been a week throughout those years that I haven’t gambled.
I’m in debt around £20-£25k, I have recently had a child which hasn’t stopped me from gambling but every day I tell myself I need to quit as I have bigger responsibilities now.
My wife knows everything about my addiction, yet still doesn’t know the full extent, but is fully supportive of me.
This diary will now be the start of my new life without gambling, they say there’s only one winner.......this time it will be me.
If anyone wants to follow this diary or post views of their own it will be greatly welcomed.
Thanks
I wish you all the strength going forward from this day mate. Day 1 again for me. Need to find the inner strength and determination to stop .
Good luck! All the best, hope to share the journey
Welcome , great that you have the support of your wife , maybe think about coming completely clean to her , cause this is a hard nut to crack on your own , and addiction feeds off secrets . But it’s early days, see what you can do to break the time , money , location triangle . Be kind to you , take care stay strong Shiny 🙂
Feeling physically sick this morning at the magnitude of the situation I am in. I can get out of it financially without putting too much strain on myself, there is a constant worry though as it doesn’t just affect myself, it also affects my family.
If I can look at the bigger picture that gambling has got me into to keep me focused on where I want to be.
I use to love the gym and running but these hobbies have taken a hit since all I cared about was putting bets on. Going to make an effort to get back into these.
Still no gambling since Sunday, I would say it’s an achievement however when you’ve no real money in the bank to gamble with it’s quite easy not to.
That said I’ve had £40 in my wallet since Sunday and that is still there so I must be tackling the urge
Peace out!
