Hi,
To start off, I started gambling about 5 years ago when I was 17 just really small.
My mate won like £70 quid on some virtual race and though man that's easy!
So I tried a £10 on roulette and nothing came up ... left it.
Anyway within a few weeks i was doin regular £20 spins, with losses & marginal wins.
I got a job after college with an hour dinner break with *********** literally over the road, so I would go in there the whole hour spending anything from £50 - £150 a day, sometimes more, sometimes less and sometimes having to go without eating.
That's how I started, to cut it short, I have hammered roulette machines, put £100's on horses and basically gambled on anything.
I've borrowed a few thousand off a friend and that's all paqid back now and just have a £1000 loan outstanding.
I know how the gambler's mind works, I just need help myself because I'm never going to get rid.
I always think, that one big win and that's it I'm done. Well I got that big win a fortnight ago, £2500 - £3000 up i was in the space of two days. and now I have lost all that plus £700 just last night.
The only thing that has made me come here is my nan left me £7500 and I do not want to be taking from this at all.
My gambling has been so bad over the last few years I just don't know what to do anymore to stop, I thought I could but just can't. Support/help/advice all welcome.
Thanks
Day 1 told my mum everything and about the site. Hopefully the day i can say i stopped
Hi tillage5.Well done for starting your diary. We started ours six day's ago and have been gamble free for that time.during the last week we have read these diaries and through the depths of them someone mentioned 'borrowed profit' and that's what it is if we 'win' and we believe that to be true because if you look at the bigger picture as you know you lose more than you could ever win.so maybe its best not to chase a big win.You can only look forward now and you've been honest with your Mum and you have her support as well as everyone elses on here.So keep posting and stay strong. We wish you the best of luck Chris and Jayne
Cheers guys. Best of luck to you both aswell
Day 5 still not bet. Just kept myself busy.
You just need something else to focus your
Angers/frustrations/boredom on.
Gambling isnt a way of making constant money
Remember its supposed to be a bit of fun.
Find something else no matter how random to take
Up. Best of luck to all on here
Jeez almost 6 years ago since I came on. Between then and now I've had one to one counseing. Hypnotherapy sessions. Attended GA for 3 weeks but fell out of it with travel and timings. I know you have to be committed to want to stop. I see that there are chat room hour sessions on here that I'd like to do. Has anyone participated and found they have stopped or helped their gambling in anyway?
Affected by gambling?
