Today sees another new start for me. Managed a week then spent every penny I had last night 🙁 gutted. Can't speak to my dad although I borrowed the money of him, he just won't understand. Felt like driving into a tree this morning, it's got that bad. No money once again, will this ever end? I hate gambling!! 🙁

we all have slips , it doesnt make it right but , just dont let it happen again. remember how you felt when you lost your dads money , remember that every time you get another urge , believe me that will help , get selfexcuding hand your cards over to somebody or destroy them if you can live without them , unless you get serious you wont beat this , get serious and you will beat this , telling your dad might help but i understand if you dont want to tell him , another option is have you wages or whatever paid into someones acount then just leave in your account what you need or get them to give you a small allowance to live on , i am by no means an expert at giving up as i have since being on here had a slip , but hopefully i have learned my lesson , well done for being here and making a gamble free start

Thanks for the help. I'm always so ashamed, seeing statements covered in gambling transactions. God knows how much money I would have if I had never placed that first bet. Only I can change my future. Good luck to you all, together we will beat this. We are in the right place, one day at a time x

angie

I hope you stick around with this same thread long enough to see the benefits of abstinence.

There is a triangle

Time - money -location

Take one away at all times and the punt becomes impossible.

I lost count of the times I burrowed off those I profess to love only to let my addiction see it as a gift, only to then throw the lot away, leaving me ashamed and self loathing, bottom line is the money wasted, I never got to enjoy a penny of their hard earnt and until I found recovery nor did they!!Truth is I was stealing from them to feed my addiction

Be honest with your father, shut the door on future losses there.

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back.
