Have hit one week of no gambling . Havent felt the urge to gamble until now . Its like i want to reward myself ie have been good so treat yourself to a wee gamble but i know there is no such thing as a wee gamble .
Sam, I had exactly the same thoughts...It is something you need to ignore! We cannot win because we cannot stop (if we were capable of a small gamble, we wouldn't be here looking for help)! I think I documented my whole 'treat' intention & the subsequent realisation that in order to treat myself to this small gamble (for being good) I would need like a £1000. It sounds hard but you need to draw a line under your losses as thinking about them is something to keep the dream alive...Gambling owes me, the big win is coming, I just want to get this back then I'll stop ring any bells!
Accepting that a) I was a problem gambler b) I cannot control my gambling & c) the money has gone is what has allowed me to 'recover' One Day At A Time!

Thanks for that ODATT, if funny how we seem to expericene the same things , how everyones minds works the same way , i used to think that theirs something the matter with me was i born a gambler has past events lend me to wear i am now . To tell you the truth i had a brilliant childhood brilliant loving parantsi am very lucky as i have a brilliant family the best husband in the work and to grown up kids with great careers. I feel that i sucked in by the adverts the chance of easy free money and the next thing you know there this other person in your brain saying one more go one more go the next will be the big win . Its like another you ....THE OTHER they take over and you dont be in your right mind . You see i dont have a problem with bookies scratchcards its only online i could never have this money over if it was in my hand but handing over card details is so easy . You know writing this all down as it comes to you really helps
