Hi
New to this site. I been gambling since I was 17/18 and finally had enough of losing and becoming hooked.
When I'm playing machines everything around me becomes non existent and I blow every penny I've got. Until I've nothing left. Then when I get money again I go in search of winning back the money I have lost and it's a never ending chase.
I don't gamble often but when I do I lose ВЈ600/£700 in 1 stint.
After reading posts on here I'm ready to make the change in my life and turn a corner.
I currently have savings and earn a decent wage each month. Today I'm on day 1 of not gambling. I did 9 months last year of not gambling but soon went back to it when I had spare cash. And I only seem to do it when I have spare cash.
Hopefully I can come back in 3 months and be gamble free and in a better place.
Thanks and best of luck to everyone else.

Day 2
Today was hard. It was my day off from Work and the football was on. Saturdays I normally place a few accumulators that never ever win but it's also when I hit the FOBT with just a few quid which leads onto a few hundred!! So done well to get over the first Saturday. Drove past a few bookies as well. (They are everywhere!!!!)
Plan to keep busy tomorrow and go out for a nice long walk with no money! (Keep the triangle broken).
T
That's the way, keep your mind and body away, walk it off or escape some other way, watch a DVD, day 3 today, live it 1 day at a time with no regrets, forget your past loses, FORGET them, don't ever think you'll get them back or what you could of done with the money, you're a winner from NOW! Share your success and never tell anyone 'good luck'....there's no luck required or wanted in achieving a winning day, it's hard work and self motivation and we can ALL do that and stand proud when we do knowing we've done it again!!!!
Be successful, we're all here to help!
You've made a great start Anon, keep going. Every day without gambling is a win. Enjoy today. Stay strong

hi annon, sounds like your pretty determined and the days have gone well so far. enjoy the rest of the weekend
Day 3
No struggles! Went to the cafe for my breakfast (next door to bookies) no urge, more hate in my body for that place. Went out for a nice walk in the afternoon, took in the surroundings and sat on a bench watching the world go by. Not even looked at fixtures , tried to keep myself busy all day, and have done. Going to sit down and enjoy a nice roast now and chill out for the evening.
3 days richer in my eyes!
Thanks for the support guys, we are all in this together and will come out better people.
Keep strong.

Day 4
Up and out to work early doors. Then had a break before my next job. It's the kind of time in the past I've got to the bookies in the hope of winning £50. It never was....... I went online and watched videos of FOBT and people losing to them. It kind of helped me and created so much hate for them.
Planned tomorrow out so I haven't any spare time. Keep me busy and moving.
Half way to a whole week of no gambling!
T
Busy can be good. Keep your eyes open. Well done annon
Well done, eventually your hate will turn to pity for the people in them. That was you once.
At first I was angry about how bookies operate but eventually I stopped caring. Although I still do have issues of how they advertise and offer promotions but it doesn't bother me day to day.
Day 5
What a beautiful day!
Got myself outside as much as possible. Had a bit of spare time on my hands today so did a few jobs I've been meaning to do. Passed a bookies early and seen 2 young lads around 18/19 going in. Got me thinking back to when I first started. Online at 17.....I had a big win. I was still at school and had my laptop with me. I was playing during lessons and got ВЈ5 up to £200. I instantly became hooked. Few days after I entered the bookies for the first time. A week later I went to the casino. (Yes at 17 I found a way).
From there it spiralled so much out of control. I could go in and lose ВЈ500 at a time. I would be ВЈ950 up and would still not be happy. If I can just get another £50 ill leave.....It never happened. And I'd stay until I lost every penny. I'm learning my lesson now. I tried gambling knowing people had told me there was only 1 winner and now I can see they were right.
Going a bit off today's post opening up a little more. Things starting to cement now. Tomorrow will be a big test as I have to bank and it's next door to a bookies.....
But for today day 5 over. Almost at a week. (A week since I lost £1000 to fobt)
The days nearly over and I plan to take myself out for a stroll and enjoy the surroundings and life.
Keep digging hard we will be winners
T
well done my friend. You have a determined and positive attitude that I am sure will get you through each day. You can meet the challenge of today- you can do it.
Stu
Stu - Thanks for the support. Hope your doing well. Keep digging hard. We will win in the long haul.
Day 6
Over run at work which was good. Earned my money and no spare time. (I'm self employed). I did have to bank today which was next door to l*******s. Hard seeing the offer on the Madrid Derby. 8/1 offer. But I'm now ВЈ20 richer as I'd of had a go on it normally. But whilst putting it on I'd of also put £100 in the fobt. So I'm winning already.
Day 6 over! Tomorrow is a week since I lost big. And a week gamble free.
Stay strong my friends.

Roll on 1 week! Stay strong 🙂
Day 8
What happened to day 7? I was super busy! And didn't even have time to think about here never mind gambling!
Slowly losing the urge to want to gamble. I did pass through town last night and did had a lot of loose change. Normally I'd of tried to turn that into £20. Instead I bought myself a treat from the shop.
Today I've been super busy. 13 hour day. Just got finished. Keeping yourself busy is the key for me! The busier I keep myself the less I think about it.
Here's to week 2!
Thanks for support guys! Keep going, we will be winners in the long run.
