I've just read your post and, understandably, you must be feeling more than a little gutted right now; it's a horrible feeling and I feel for you mate. It proves, doesn't it, whether we have £10 or £1000 gambling will happy deprive us of any cash we have, regardless of the amount. And if we win, it's not really 'our' money, is it; like gravity, we're always brought down to earth when we lose it, and then some more.
So what do we do. The answer - no matter how much we duck and dive hearing it, believing it, or acting upon it - is always the same. Today, we can't gamble. Tomorrow, the answer's the same. Easy isn't it....(!)
How do we do it? Well, knowing how fallable we are, our non-gambling part of our brain has to be more cunning than the gambling side. That means a mix of practical and supportive measures to help us stop this destruction that eats us alive, not just financially but emotionally too, for ourselves and others we care about and care about us.
So where to start? Small steps. I'm bannng myself from all local bookies tomorrow, here's the phone number - 0800 294 2060. I don't know why I didn't do this before, frankly. Fancy joining me, looking gambling in the eye and giving it the royal salute. Once this is done, then we can take the next step. Meantime, probably because we have too - let's not kid ourselves - we must remain gambling free.

What I'm going to do tomorrow is phone 0800 294 2060 between 9-5pm and ask to be banned from all bookies in my home town. I think I'm going to need a photo so for pure convenience I'm going to go to the Photo Me booth in the station and get four photos. £6 it will cost I think. Then I've got three spare photos that I'll need when I ban myself from the casino. That's my next step.
