Irene

your gift to yourself this Xmas is also a huge one for all those around you.

To abstain from gambling. The greatest gift a compulsive gambler could have.

It gifts you your life back

keep enjoying

Duncs stepping forward never back

Thanks friends x

Day 45

I've had such a beautiful couple of days with family. Duncanmac was so right- the best gift was being able to be me, without the shackles of slots holding me back. Got a very apt text message:

"life is a gift, embrace it with love and joy".

How true is that?

Been overindulging in spectacular fashion- did I really moan about not being able to eat chocolate???? Someone bought me a "onsie" for Christmas- son says I'll soon be like a Teletubby!

Me n Paddy just been one of our refreshing walks in the rain-he trotted along in his new coat and kept him warm and dry- until he decided to swim in the local canal 🙁

I've not really had the chance to think about gambling- too preoccupied with food! A much less dangerous fixation 🙂

Peaceful?!!! got my very own water feature in the living room now.Upstairs elderly neighbour has a leaking pipe- water now cascading through my light!

Shes got a houseful of people and I appear in pjs at her door- looking forward to a sleepless night waiting for my ceiling to cave in!

Why do things like this happen? It seems like every time I feel at peace something happens to disturb it!

Aargh!!!!!!!!

Well dam girl hope ya turned off that light. Do ya rent? Cause yeah I'd be calling the land lord quick. Hell hope that problem is resolved quick and sounds like your place needs a plumbing makeover to be sure.

I would call the land lords to get it sorted before it causes more damage also i wouldn't let this get you down.

Thanks!

Day 46

The water's still dripping- getting really cheesed off! An insurance job. Neighbour's central heating had been leaking and plumber fixed that (or so he says!). Apparently, it's residual pooling and I've to call again in the morning if it persists. Her house looks perfect again!

Anyhow, despite the continual "drip, drip, drip" I refuse to let it get to me- or at least I'm trying to convince myself that its not!

Felt quite "bored" today- a dangerous situation for me. I'm under "house arrest" on ceiling watch! Tried to keep busy with mundane housey stuff and DVDs and pampering planned for tonight to prevent my mind wandering to the "what ifs".

Flurries of snow started here so I'd prob be staying at home anyhow 🙂

I'm really looking forward to a night out tomorrow with my friend. Going to the city centre for a meal and maybe a couple of drinks- I feel safe with that. Our big treat 🙂
