Thank you Suzanne! Thanks tt1980. Well yes day 2 has arrived and nearly gone. No cravings to gamble or have a drink. No money to do it anyway which is good :). I'm still feeling sad and down and wondering how much longer I can keep this pretence and lies up. It's exhausting all the time and not fair on my family. However I know if I say I'll loose everyone for good as this was my last chance. My little boy is home from his dad which I'm happy about. I feel better when his home. Anyway hope everyone is having a happy gambke free day x

Thank you everyone for your support. Dan my computer is blocked from gambling but my sons isn't. It's my phone really I need to block. I'm going to look into it. I don't really gamble anymore unless I've had a drink. I cracked the gambling whilst sober a few years ago. The only block I should really do is stop drinking which is what I'm going to do.

Day 3 today feeling better. I'm going on a walk today and trying to run tomorrow as I have a 10k run planned for April. So far at 5k which im pleased about I never thought I could run. Soon I'll be moving up Doncaster to run some kennels which I'm excited about. It's just taking so long :(. Positive mind healthy body is my new attitude. No more wallowing in self pity. Only I can make these changes.

Have a happy gambke free day everyone xx

Hey N,

Welcome back and so sorry to read you are having some tough time with this nasty habit again. But ya know what, that's what recovery is all about - never giving up on giving up.
Do remember you from back 2013 and know that you have more strength in you than you think 🙂
Keep marching on, you are safe here alongside like minded people, no judgement and only unconditional support.
Blocks are indeed necessary fighting this ugly habit. As more armour on the side, as better. Do like your sentence about "healthy body healthy mind" and good on you for getting yourself out for that run. I still do running too. Not as often lol (i did it every day back in a day..i guess age has caught up with me lol and am not as fit as before). But running is the best way to use your energy and i find it all so much settled in my mind after a good exercise.

Just wanted to come by to congratulate you on your continued progress to better yours and your loved ones lives.

You can do it and you will find that peace and harmony in your life. Take unhealthy habits out (drink is just another depressant driving us to crazy decisions..i am battling this also and i know it's not easy so just be very kind to you on that front and don't beat yourself up in case you have few slip ups on the way..remember that dealing with two addictions at once is double battle and requires more determination) concentrate on the things which gives you peace to mind, body and soul.

Here with ya all the way..you go girl!!!!!!!!!

Day at a time

Sandra xx

Thanks all.

Well failed in not gambling I broke on Wednesday. I haven't gambled since. I thought I was done forever but I couldn't resist. I was ashamed to come on here and admit but knew if I didn't I would just sink even further. I am on my 3rd day and I do have the cravings. I will be strong!!!

My running is going well 5.7 km now so feel good about that just need to loose the weight. I will not gamble today!

Hi there,

Very well done for coming back. Can see such strength and determination in you. This addiction is sly and very sneaky. Slips are possible, but we need to get up, dust ourselves down and get back on track.

You did just that. Keep posting..we are listening.
Wow!! I am impressed with your running, keep at it also, it helps soo much for our bodies and minds..you will defo see the difference in no time.

Stay safe

Day at the time..You're doing it!

S xx
