Today is a difficult day. My GF date is 09 removed link My wife of almost 13 years tells me it's time to call it a day.
We have 3 lovely children and have a lovely family home. I have fought very hard to face Gambling issues, general addictive behaviour and have undergone many hours of GA and therapy... ultimately the scale of the issue was not financial, nor was it abusive, but I did lie and I did always control what happened in our lives.
This has now caused a significant rupture in our relationship that despite couples therapy, we cannot repair. My wife even said I have managed to manipulate the therapist into my way of thinking!!
I feel so so sad that my wife has developed such a negative view of me and she does not seem to have any support around her to bring her back to a reasonable way of thinking... she says she wants an amicable divorce as do I, but how can we when in the next breath she claims that she cannot talk to me or agree anything without me controlling things?... Whats her point of view? She doesn't have one... If I ask her, I just regularly get "I don't know, why are you turning it on me?, I am not the problem!"
We have an initial call with amicable scheduled for later in the week.
Please help me, I am stuck.
I feel lucky I met my partner from a friend in GA and she knew what the deal was. I pay for it now tho by not having a large house and live in a flat with my partner and daughter
We are still together but have different challenges than whats happening with you and your partner
Sounds like you need to make a change too far for her to accept if you have been though it all. My advice is not to turn back to gambling because of a part of you're life that it fragmenting and changing and who knows maybe for the better one day.
It sounds bloody hard tho and I hope you come to a positive conclusion what ever happens in the end.
I am just a random guy on the net and I wish you the better and a positive future away from gambling too
