Last night, I decided I was going to try and use this months bill money to win our short falls for the month….

Ive managed to win twice before to find clear the bills we have, which honestly I feel as compounded the problem I have of gambling.
The pain is…. I’m having to gamble to clear bill, because I’ve dipped into the bill account to gamble. A vicious circle.

last night, I needed to win around £x so went to roulette, as I always have in the past. And by the end….. ended up spending close too £x chasing that £x win 😞

but, the only good I can take from this, is, this morning, after a pretty restless sleep, I talked with my wife about my problem. As you can imagine, she wasn’t best pleased. But very supportive and helpful. The stress kinda left me at that point, but the disappointment in myself stayed.
I have been a gambler for years, and always felt I had it under control, but I’ve now put restrictions on my accounts and emails ect

and because I’ve told my wife, I feel so much stronger that I can get over this addiction and move on with life.

im not sure what I want from this site. Or this post, as it’s a first for me, but I think talking and being open about a problem with people who genuinely have the same problems can only help in the long run

take care

Welcome to the forum.....Great move telling your partner.......gambling thrives on secrecy.....a bold move....must have taken courage....well done....

Now you can work on your recovery....

Small steps take it day by day....

First move is to get blocks in place moses, gamstop, gamban, sense, get them all, they realyly help. .

then best move i took was after i get paid each motnh i pay bills then transfer rest to my dad for safekeeping....you could transfer to ur partner or pay off highest interest debts? make sense?

all the best Adam

You have disclosed your gambling problem with your wife and that is an important move. The first step towards healing is acknowledging the problem and obtaining support. Getting over gambling addiction is a process and one’s expected to experience setbacks along the way. Give yourself time and acknowledge that this is a big step towards better health and stability. There is light at the end of the tunnel through the help of support groups, professionals, and well-wishers to overcome this addiction and walk towards a bright future. You are not alone in this fight.
