Looking for a bit of advice - my husband had stopped gambling for 5 months but has gone back gambling yesterday! Swears it will only be on this golf comp (never is)! But I just cant go through another round of this hell! I am going to give him a few days to get the help he needs etc - I think its all I have in me if Im honest! The main reason I havent left yet is my kids - I hate uprooting them and the confusing and I feel this could be ugly when I do! My husband wont move out so I will have to leave and go to my parents who dont know anything! Im afraid if I dont leave what it will do to me! I am 3 months pregnant also - makes it that much harder to leave! Has anyone ever left a addicted husband with kids and how did it go? Im scared financially I will be left with it all and make things so much worse!

Hi

I have recently split up with my husband after 19 years and 3 children his relapses have gotten worse every relapse even with safeguards in place to stop him gambling.  This year alone he has done over £60k.  It has been incredibly hard to end things as I love the man but not the addict.  I havent told my friends and family the reason for the split as I'm just so embarrassed and ashamed that he has done this again.  I would strongly recommend seeking support for you from gamcare they have a range of different support options available.

Hi anon209

Sorry to hear this for you . I am currently in the process of selling my house with intentions to divorce my GA husband . I cannot do this any more either . I feel all the emotions you will resonate with but I know I cannot go on like this anymore . I deserve ( as do we all on this planet ) to be happy so I am choosing myself this time round . My husband has gambled again after 7 years gamble free   ( he attends GA meetings ) for the last 12 months and I know I can’t do this anymore . I have a small child and in my 40 s and will probably have to live with my parents for a while but it’s worth it to find peace and happiness for myself and my child . I send you strength and please feel the comfort of knowing your not alone x
