Hi Gamcare,
There seems to be a problem with accesssing the Chatroom tonight; needing to enter the room password, whatever that is.
Just thought you should know why it's (probably) very quiet tonight!
All the best,
Mixer
Nor me Mixer. No idea about this password thing buddy.
I had a lot to say tonight despite being normally like a church mouse (!). What's the problem?
Really disappointing.
Same this afternoon. Chats became a lifeline for me in this recovery and it's saddening not to be able to reach for such help.
Hope admin sorts it out soon..
S&B xx
We're very sorry for the inconvenience. We're working on a solution long-term, but in the meantime, could you try using a different browser? We suggest Firefox.
Apologies again
Deirdre
Another point - you do have to be logged in using your forum username and password in order to access the room - could it be this that you are being asked for?
Hi,
I am logged in and have tried several browsers (including firefox) however access to the chatroom is still via a password. I gave tried my Gc password also with no success
Apologies Bal, I've been able to replicate the issue and see this for myself. We are working on an alternative but it won't be available today I'm afraid. We will post a message later today about this evening's chat rooms.
Thank you all for your patience with this.
According to your twitter chat will not be available for the next two weeks
As Gem1209 has said, the chatroom is down for 2 weeks ( https://twitter.com/GamCare?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor )
So, in the meantime, I've set up a thread here -> Temporary Chatroom <- where we can Chat instead. Ok, it's on a Forum 'thread' and not as instant, but better than nothing!
Hi All,
thank you for flagging the issues last night, and thank you for your understanding. I can confirm, the Chat won't be available for the next two weeks. We have had issues with the chat interface for a while now and have been looking into alternatives, but so far have not found one that was suitable. We are now trippling our efforts.
I am not sure about a Chatroom on the Forum I will let Deirdre know, see if she has an idea.
All the best,
Eva

Hi Forum Admin,
re, the Chatroom Thread idea (which ran tonight, from 8-9pm). If you think it's viable, whilst we wait for a new Chatroom, maybe Gamcare will be able to spare a resource to moderate?
We can, of course, 'moderate' outselves to some degree as has been proven tonight. It would just be nice to always have someone 'there' to start things off so no-ones ever posting without gettng a 'hello' back (which rather defeats the object of a 'chat'!)
Whilst I'll personally try and make as many as I can (because I find them helpful and enjoy the good company!) I cant make them all.
I look forward to your reply, as always. Thank you, Mixer
Hi Mixer
Thanks very much for starting the 'Chatroom Thread' - we appreciate everyone's loyalty and committment to help each other. We will be allocating extra 'Forum Admin' time while the chatroom is down but not necessarily at the same time as the previous chat rooms would have been. But we will be keeping an eye on things.
Best wishes
Deirdre

Hi Deidre,
Thank you for the reply.
I naturally fully realise that you need to juggle the resources you have in the most effective way; and I'm sure you're keeping more than a 'weather eye' on the Chatroom thread, but in much the same way as you do elsewhere on the forums.
I reiterate - I'm sure you and your team miss the Chatroom too; it's different, a change for you and I think, and I know many of us feel the same way, it's missed and we can't wait to get it back.
But, meantime, onwards we march, ever forwards. The forum continues to be a powerful way to help us tame our gambling demons.
To quote Monty Python's Black Knight (sorry for anyone under about 40):
"'Tis but a flesh wound!"
All the very best,
Mixer
I miss the chatrooms - have helped me so much. I'm not techinical at all but I sort of feel the problem could have been sorted out by now as it can be a lifeline for many people.
Affected by gambling?
