As you are funded by the gambling industry and obviously have access to many of these companies, surely there must be a way that you can help us to exclude from on-line casino's/bookies? I know this is virtually impossible for those that go to physical bookies or casinos, however on-line should be do-able surely? I have again gone through the laborious task of self excluding from a load of casinos. This has been an on-going roundabout for about a few years now, I self exclude, then I find more on-line casinos to sign up to and the vicious cycle starts all over again. I wonder if you could get a self exclusion section on here, perhaps a sign up questionaire which includes our email address/es that would enable you to exclude us from all of your associates that fund Gamcare in one easy shot regardless of whether or not we already have an account with them? That way, any of us that fall off the wagon who then go hunting for new online accounts will be denied access to a good percentage of gaming companies. It seems to me like a really hands-on way for you to help and shouldn't be too difficult surely? If these companies really do care about gambling addiction they would be happy to sign up wouldn't they? I don't know whether I am thinking too simplistically, but it makes sense to me.

I think another good thing would be to ban the reverse withdrawal option....

Loxxie, with respect, that isn't something Gamcare can do because the point of this is to stop us gambling, not to make it easier for us to carry on. Good luck in your recovery, you're doing well so far. I just don't want to get off my original point, which definitely IS something Gamcare could do or at least look in to.

Hi twinklyr, all

We know it's frustrating that you have to self exclude from each site individually. With casinos, you can exclude from all casinos with one form. See our website for more information.

http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/self-exclusion

As soon as there is any information about any other sectors such as online, we will let you know.

Best wishes

Forum Admin.

That's really good news about land based casinos, and anyone on here who goes into a casino I've just had a look at the form and participating casinos, it looks great. However, my issue (and many, many others on here) is with online casinos. If you have found a way for people to self exclude in one hit with land based casinos, you can surely at least look into it with on-line casinos? I don't mean to sound pedantic, but rather than just saying 'as soon as there is any information about any others sectors such as online, we will let you know' can you tell what you are doing about it - i.e. are you already in talks with gambling sites about this? Is it something that they are actively looking in to? I really do appreciate your response, but it's too wishy washy for me, can you be more specific please? Thanks in advance!

Here here & well said Dean.

Wouldn't it just be easier in taking responsibility for our own actions. The 1st lessons learned in early childhood.

Dean, the details they take to make accounts aren't just email addresses but physical address and dob too. You can't set up a new dob or abode - just a few simple details. Volcano, I hope you have never had a blip, it's not so easy as I gather only 4% of people succeed in long term cessation of gambling according to stats banded about on here, so get off your high horse. Where have I said that I haven't taken responsibility for my actions? The point I am making is that many of us (including you I suspect) have fallen off the wagon. If, in one of these weaker moments there was something that absolutely stopped us opening up new online accounts, many of us would wake up the following morning, thank our lucky stars that we got through the night without going through with the 'blip' and carry on with our recovery. Don't patronise me either with a reply about the triangle, blocking software etc I know about them. There are ways around that if you are of a mind to get around it and in the fog of 'just £20 won't hurt' etc. I don't have a diary as I don't want to be patronised, so please don't use my thread to give yourself a pat on the back.

Snakes invariably stick there snakes our out of the grass

The reason why I know this, is because I use to be a snake.

But, one thing I'm great full by this particular thread is will help with my zzzzzzz.

My middle name is blip and proud of it.

ps the only thing we appear to agree on is the concept of a broken triangle. No doubt a black eye coming my way from a flyer from the cot...

Gamcare admin, is there a way that I can email you direct, it appears that my question has left me open to ridicule from another member who clearly feels he knows best (as much as I can make out from the unintelligible comment above)? I really would like to talk about this with someone. Thanks in advance.

Hello twinklyr

If you would prefer, please do contact: @gamcare.org.uk">forumadmin@gamcare.org.uk and we'll be able to get back to you directly. I can see that we've already responded to your original question, and stated that there currently isn't a way of self-excluding from multiple/all online casinos. The only way of doing this at present is to install some blocking software onto the device/s you are using to gamble. More information about blocking software can be found here: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/blocking-software#.VrDQJencuIY

There's also a free software, not mentioned in this article. It is useful for blocking gambling on devices such as iphones (and other smart phones), tablets and macs: http://www1.k9webprotection.com/

All the best

Laura

Hope your doing ok keeping watch from your cyber viewpoint , you really should get a proper place around here you know as it would cut my commuting time by half but didn't go unnoticed that your post was deleted so maybe your right in saying you can't be trusted ?
