I use a different forum for my issues with panic and anxiety and obviously like here the focus is on a specific subject but on that website there is a section where people can discuss TV programs, music, films, sport etc. in a good way - it's great to have those debates/posts.

For example, my friend has got me into David Bowie so I've been buying very cheaply on an online music site Bowie's albums from 1971 onwards.

Couldn't have we those sort of posts here on an extra part of the forum? I'm sure a different section wouldn't cost GamCare a lot and I think it would be a good thing to post about other things while in recovery as it's a good distraction/relaxing and sometimes funny plus I think it is good interaction.

Best wishes, Phil.

Hello Phil,

Thanks for this feedback.

Many of our forum members choose to post content like you've described in their recovery diaries.

We do want to maintain the intended focus for our forum, to support recovery from problem gambling and the impacts of problem gambling, by facilitating peer support. I will though bring your suggestion to the attention of our forum leader.

Thanks again,

Forum admin.

Hi Phil

It's a very good idea and in fact there have been threads of this nature in Overcoming Problem Gambling, such as box sets to watch, inspirational music and so on. Why not revive one of these threads, or if you don't see one on a topic you are interested in, start one of your own? Overcoming Problem Gambling would be the place to do it.

Thanks again for the suggestion

Deirdre
