Hi, I've joined today, I feel need to express myself as like many others I feel like I have no where to turn, my issue is with online bookmakers and in the shops, I've now self excluded from every account I have online, I don't think there's anymore I can join, I've blown just under £1000 just today as it's payday, I just kept chasing, this happens all the time, I'm in a well paid job but find I have nothing to show for it as I'm throwing everything at gambling it's killing me. Would love some help and some guidance, I hate myself all the time for going back on my word,

Hi King1984 - Welcome to the site, and well done for realising that you have to do something NOW to stop this terrible blight of gambling which we have all had to face.

Self-exclusion is a good first step - have you also installed any blocking software such as K9?

Putting barriers between you and online temptation really helps and is an essential part of recovery. Try to visit the site every day and read a selection of the posts, and contribute too! There is such a lot of wisdom here, as well as support, that you will feel the better for it. Keep going - you can do it.

Joanna

Thanks Joanna, feel like a little weight is lifted of my shoulders after posting on here yesterday, going to take it day by day, normally see myself as a strong character but when it comes to gambling I'm a sucker and I hate myself for it, I've tried cold turkey before and lasted two weeks so no I can get there, just a little support needed this time I think.

Cheers Andy

Hey,

I was in the same situation this time 2 weeks ago, and i finally admitted to my family about my addiction. I really recommend talking to one of the councilors gamcare has in your area. I have now blocked all online gambling and have councilling. Good job for recognising you have a problem. 🙂

we can all do this together with support - and you realise how nice it is to be gamble free. It isnt easy so you really have to have your head into quitting.

Good luck and im here if you need anymore support

Thanks,

Means a lot when people take time out of the day to comment on here.

Been reading do manning different stories on here and glad there are lots of people willing to help.

I'm going to ring them this evening. Staying strong at the moment and being positive, sorted all my debts out and when and how I have to sort them out, just got to stay strong, thanks again
