Four days of not going in bookies.. feeling positive, the challenge is today and the weekend. My thing is horse racing and the machines in the bookies. I would put a lucky on ( actually quite a few) and then that is all I will think about all day .. then I would put Irish lottery on and I would think about that until the draws and mostly lose. I’ve been gambling for 40 years, and it has got worse with technology. I used to check my results in the paper the day after, now you check on the radio. Anyway I’m enjoying the clear mind and hoping to get through this weekend 🤞🏻

Hello h9z7p2ioj8,

Well done on four days gambling-free.

If you are based in Britain, you might like to consider self-exclusion from betting shops through MOSES:

MOSES (Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Scheme; for high street betting shops)

0800 294 2060

https://self-exclusion.co.uk/

If you combine this with money management methods and time management methods, it might help to interrupt old routines and create an opportunity to develop new routines. (For example, not carrying cards, only carrying small cash, scheduling activities to take you away from the betting shop).

If you are based in Britain, please feel welcome to call us on 0808 8020 133. (We can give you details for local support near your area, if you like).

Take care,

Adam.
