Hi, my story is very similar to a lot already on here. I first signed up to an online bingo site 9 years ago. At first I just played bingo and limited my deposits to £10/20 per month. I had a few small wins then won some money. Over the years I joined more sites in order to take advantage of new customer offers such as deposit bonus and free spins. Over time I started depositing more money each month. I would think to myself I really need to stop and would cancel membership with the sites but the next day sign up to 3 more. I have lost count of the number of bingo sites I have joined. Once I discovered online slots was the biggest downfall. I would be depositing and any wins would just go back in again. The few times I withdrew the money most of the time it didn't reach my bank account as there was always a few days in which to change my mind and cancel the withdrawal. I did have few wins but lost it all again. I also lost money left to me by an uncle I never knew I had. I know there are lots of people here who have lost much more than that and not just financially. In July I signed up to Gamestop so I knew I would be unable to register with any online gambling sites. At first I found it really difficult and kept thinking what can I do with my time especially at night. Over time though I am thinking less and less about gambling and finding it easier to get through each day. I know this is a long post so thank you to everyone who has read it. I hope it can help others in the same position I was in xx
Great post, I identify with this 100% So easy to get drawn into the vicious circle. It's a long road and seems impossible at the beginning but end up feeling like a totally different person. Enjoy your GF life, take care S 🙂
Very positive post pearl2806. Keep going!Â

I’m new to this site, but I think I need help I don’t know. I wish there was a site to stop you from gambling on slots as I enjoy a bet on football and will only bet small (£10) but if I ever win or I am feeling low I won’t think twice about blowing a couple of hundred pound on the slots for a quick buzz. I have barred myself from most sites but always seem to find new slot sites to open and waste money. I Hate this feeling of guilt and depression it gives you.
Hi Pearl. Such a familiar story. I hate seeing those adverts inticing people with free spins and stuff. Such a slippery slope.
You've done the right thing with Gamstop. The only advice I could add is to stay positive, enjoy life without gambling and never go back to it!
Good luck 🙂
I'm the same, was addicted to slots online. Started off with bookies slots then started using the online sites. Never ever won really big but kept winning enough to keep me going and feed my habit. I lost my whole wage last Xmas eve when I was in the house bored. I then registered with gamstop and didn't gamble online for a 11 months then the other day I had a relapse and lost £1200 in 30 minutes after finding a website that would take a bet from me using a new email address that I created. I immediately requested to close my account and added that email address to gamstop. The damage I done could have been a lot worse as I got paid today but cant gamble it online and have no urge to do it.
Keep the head up, one day at a time and keep yourself busy with hobbies/activities. I'm going to start doing more exercise as I find this helps to keep my mind occupied. Stick with it and you'll be this horrible thing.
Hi pearl. This could have been written by me. Congratulations on your gf life . X
