Hi everyone

ive just joined today, I need help - I’ve spent my entire savings and over the last two months I’ve gone from thriving to surviving.
how do you cope? I have thoughts of ending it all, I owe banks money, I’m not earning enough to pay my monthly bills

Dear @n7aje3b8kq,

Thank you for sharing your story with the forum, but I am sorry to hear it's got to the point where you are struggling like this.

Please know there is always hope to move forward past this, with the right support and help you can get to a better place. I hope the forum can show you that too.

It does sound like you are struggling with feeling low too though with having thoughts to end it all. It would certainly be worth speaking with you GP or perhaps reaching out to a service like the Samaritans ( https://www.samaritans.org/) too for some support with that.

If you are based in the UK, we are also available 24 hours a day on the helpline (0808 8020 133) or via our online chat to go through all of the support options for the gambling as well as anything impacted. If you are outside of the UK then https://www.gamblingtherapy.org/ would be able to support you with it all.

Do take care of yourself and remember there is always hope to get through this.

Kind regards,

Sophie C

I don't have any words of advice but I know how you feel. I also owe bank money and don't have money for bills this month which is going to lead to defaulting. But promising myself this is the last time im ever going to feel like this.

Hi there  There definitely is hope I found that at my worst what helped pull me out of the time I was spending on high risk activity was volunteering at a local community centre we used to go on trips like swimming bowling and whatever was suitable for the members

what it did was to get me out of my rut and stop my self pity while at the same time making me grateful for what I had around me you then can see what is the right course of action

All the usual blocks and non access to funds will always apply but as a new start it’s uplifting
