45 days! Why is that number so little?

Although there’s only 365 days in a year! What do I expect?

Stupid gambler brain wanting high numbers and now, I suppose.

By the end of this year I’ll be 408 days gamble free, that’s the goal. And all I have is today, all I have is this moment.

If I don’t gamble in each moment then that’s all I need. All I can control is now. Staying strong!

Hi g7 the number itself doesn’t matter what is important is that tomorrow it is one number higher! Be proud of the number and protect it as much as possible! If you do that every day then it will increase.

91 days... today was the first day in my recovery that a friend suggested going to the casino one night while I’m staying with her. Just an innocent suggestion from someone who doesn’t know my “situation” but it got me thinking... it’s the same dopamine that’ll corrupt my brain even if it’s a different type of gambling that I am addicted to. Safe to say I’ll be avoiding the casino.

399 gambling free and back to zero again... f**k!

How did I let it jump up and get me again?! Grrrrr! First gamble and first loss in over a year... I got complacent. Never again.

Dear @gambo7,

sorry to hear about your lapse, but well done for immediately coming on here and being honest about it. Take the time to reflect, figure out what triggered your urges, what blocks need to be in place again or for the first time, dust yourself off and continue your recovery journey.

A lapse is never great, but the fact you came on here to talk about it shows that your work so far has not been in vain and that your commitment is still strong.

Wishing you all the best,

Eva
