Hi i'm a new member here.
Just want some advice in my lottery addiction
I like betting in the lottery. I've played it 7 times a week.
It give me the excitement and thrill when checking the result and at the same time I am hoping to win the jackpot
But since I've started playing it, I've never experience in becoming a winner even in small prizes
So I've decided to stop playing but I can't stop myself checking the result.
Should I keep in checking the result even if I already stop playing the game?
Continuing to check the results is a very bad idea. It just keeps the gambling demon awake and hungry.
Hello Marta,
If you find it difficult to stop checking the results even though you don't play anymore, and this is causing you distress, you could talk with your GP about it. For some people, repeatedly checking results might just be an aspect of their preoccupation with gambling, for other people compulsive checking could also be linked with other conditions like obsessive compulsive disorder, and your doctor could consider whether your repeated checking is to do with problem gambling, or whether there are other causes they can help you overcome.
Take care,
