Hi,Â
I have been a gambling addict for over 20 years and have tried everthing to stop over the years. Put blocks in place such as Gamstop, self exclusion from local arcades and casinos, no bank card etc.Â
Â
Despite all of this I have always found a way and have got myself into lots of debt. My credit rating is now totally shot which in a way is good as I cannot get any more credit however I’ve never been in this position before. For the last 3 months I’ve wasted my whole salary and then had 0 to live on and had to resort to begging friends. This has also caused a lot of issues and now all of these options have been exhausted.Â
Luckily a good friend has offered to manage my money and I’m going to transfer my whole wage to him each month and he will give me a weekly allowance. I think this is the only way forward for the time being until I mange to get a better handle on things.Â
My only worry is will this have any tax implications for either of us? Baring in mind if I do this for a year I could be transferring over 20k to this friend. Will this be picked up at all and do I have anything to worry about. Or if I can show and prove it has been sent back will this be ok?
Any advice from people with tax and finance knowledge would be great.Â
ThanksÂ
