Hi
I'm new here, just joined today.
Have got myself into a mess and trying to take the first step to getting it right.
Done the self exclusion now too, but is there any other advice that anyone can offer?
Thanks

I'm on day 6 gf. My advice is write a list of reasons why you want to gamble to use it as motivation.set yourself little milestones 1 week,2 weeks 1 month etc. Read these stories/site when u get the urge.the posts on here are written by people trying to stop just like us but some really open your eyes to how bad it can get.
Good luck with your journey.

Welcome to the forum guys.

There is a lot of standard information that is repeated as to what you can do to help yourself stop. Mixer made a great board with the steps you can take that answers a lot of the questions you might also have. Check out the board below (its a long one but a must read IMO).

https://www.gamcare.org.uk/forum/want-do-something-read-2

Keep posting, sharing your story and any questions or struggles you have, get it out and post it. No one is here to judge you and you will find a lot of people share similar issues.

All the best.

Welcome kickerskid. I have just got 2 weeks and 1 days gf and so I too am not really able to offer any advice other than I have found it really helpful to talk about it and get it out in the open. It is something I didn’t do previously which allowed me to relapse and this time it feels a lot different and I really feel that I can beat this. I have just read the post mentioned above that mixer wrote and it is perfect for a newcomer to read. I wish u all the best in your recovery and to everyone else that might be reading this. Together we can beat this horror!

Thanks for the support, I'm finding it a little overwhelming right now, but I'll read the mixer post and go from there.

Hi guys welcome to the forum - the best decision you have ever made is to try and stop!! The advice I will give is gambling will never be the answer!! So when the demons in the head say it’s a good idea remember what Jappy said “it will never be the answer” hopefully it will stop you making the first bet. Stay safe and gf
