Gambling has take so much from me. £100’s of thousands of pounds and most importantly time. Remarkably I’ve never gone bankrupt. I had a huge win in 2020 but this of course has now all gone. I have no debt aside from my mortgage which I know compared to many is something I should be grateful for. The guilt and regret are something I live with everyday. How do we learn to accept this?. I feel empty and feel I deserve more pain for how I’ve behaved. It’s so hardÂ
We are meaning making machines that make sense of the present by the experiences of hour past. In short you will repeat what you do and solidifying it further by repeating it more.
If you want change then make change without thinking. You will not think yourway to a better mind. You will need to act yourway to a better mind.
The more gambling you do the more empty you will become. In fact we gamble just to feel empty just to end up feeling more empty when we finished gambling.
Deal with your emptiness by talking to someone. You won't solve it gambling you will just make it worse.

I think most gamblers spend their time chasing wins and even more time regretting the losses. The only thing you can guarentee is that more gambling will only get us deeper in the hole that we created for ourselves. I can personally say that if i ever did get the big win that i was looking for, i would find an excuse to keep going and eventually lose whatever i had in the first place. I know it gets said a lot but its always best to look at losses as a lesson as to why you dont ever want to go back to gambling. You are already doing better than most having no bad debt to deal with, the best thing you can do is maintain that. I am fortune that i managed to pay off my debts that my gambling created. I rarely think about the money lost as its in the past and there is no changing that, i just concentrate on making my life better going forward. You're doing everything postive you need to do by keeping them losses in the past.
