Family time normally takes up the most of my time, and a few non gambling games I like playing.

Oh and the odd poem

Life only gets as busy as you make it

Hi

The sequences of my recovery was accepting that I had certain unhealthy emotional triggers.

Filling the void was to stop sitting on my hands doing nothing stop procrastinating and get serious about writing down my needs my wants and my goals.

Also by planning to arrive early even at meetings half an hour early helps me feel more relaxed.

Hand over my finances to my wife.

I could not trust my self  with money.

Meetings with therapies had a big impact on my recovery and rate of my recovery.

With my therapies came reduced fears, cames more trust, much healthier articulation of how I was feeling or if I felt vulnerable.

Find a sponsor who demonstrates healthy spiritual values.

The more time and effort I put in to my recovery the faster the rate of my recovery.

Healing Love and peace.

It may sound strange, but I've filled the void with normal life. I didn't have a normal life. I stayed up to 04:00 gambling and drinking. Now I go to bed and read a book. I gambled at work, now I do work!. Basically I've erased the gambling part from my life by being a normal person. I understand  what you mean about the void. I probably gambled for 6-8 hours a day, sometimes more. That's a huge thing to try and replace. If you can find a happy family life, or a happy friendship to occupy your time, it goes along way in replacing this. I also spend quite allot of time on here, lurking and reading!

Stay strong 👍
