Most people (including myself) post here when it is too late, so you have an enormously valuable opportunity to turn yourself around before you do lose everything and everyone you hold dear.

Thats a brilliant step in the right direction you have taken. Read through the diaries, you will see we CG's are inherently the same. No one will judge you here. You will get great advice help and support. Start a diary when you are ready and write everything you feel down. good and bad. Ask questions. They will be answered by people who have been through it all before.
Understanding why we do what we do is a big part of your recovery. Be honest with yourself. As a CG I am a better liar than any politician. You can lie to whoever you like, but dont lie to yourself. Your honest appraisal of yourself will help you discover your triggers signs and symptons.
Whatever you have lost, money wise. Let it go. never chase your loses, accept that it is gone and you will be free. Its half the battle. Trust me.
But You cant bring back the time.. but the future hods that key and you can live your life free from gambling, free from lying to people, hurting loved ones, hurting yourself!!, hiding yourself away and neglecting those you love. Give yourself back the time.
The money is the material thing we crave back. But the loss of time is the biggest regret I will ever have.
