Hi All, I have just joined and would like to share my story. I am currently 29 and have been gambling heavy for the past 12 years.
Every month my salary is spent on gambling which has resulted in tens of thousands in losses and a build up of massive debts. My poison of choice is casino games online and offline. More specifically the game I tend to play is Punto/Banco. The game involves no skill whatsoever and huge winnings and losses can be racked up in a matter of minutes.
I have had winnings before ranging from 15000 - 20000 however on each occasion I have lost it all again, either that day or the following day.
At 1 point my gambling was so heavy I did not pay the rent for 6 months. At the time my housemates were paying me the rent however I was not paying the landlord. Needless to say we all got evicted. Following this I did see a Gamcare counselor for a number of 1 to 1 sessions however it was not working out for me.
I have been very lucky to hold onto a wonderful girlfriend and still have some very good friends and have kept my job through all this compulsive gambling.
As of today I have made the decision to stop gambling my life away. A great friend of mine has taken control of my money and will provide me with some as necessary.
Its a long road but I am determined to turn things around.
I hope it works out for u malcolm99 I to have done the same things but my poison was the dogs & the ********* & 49s when I won it was in the thousands ..
