Hi I’m new here, seeking some help and support. Recently developed a gambling problem. It started by depositing £10 on an online slot and winning £... and I thought I’d be clever and try win more as I desperately wanted £10,000 for a deposit for a house and I thought with £... it would be easily done if I spun £10 at a time and got a bonus… but it didn’t work out and i ended up losing that £... But I thought to myself if I can win that amount once I can do it again so I kept gambling into my overdraft to try win that £... back but it didn’t work and now I’m £4k in debt. I’m absolutely devastated and so angry at myself. I’ve ended up taking out a personal loan to pay off that debt and hoping that I’ve learnt my lesson and won’t ever gamble again. I’ve blocked myself off every gambling website I’m a member of because I’m an idiot !!

Hi, I'm also new here and also recommend Gamstop. It's hard to not think about the money you lost and I'm still kicking myself at losing 700 a few nights ago which was my final straw. I have lost thousands over the years and from personal experience, winning big doesn't help with gambling addiction as you chase every more. I had a win and instead of cashing out I put on a higher bet because I thought I could double it, but no. I lost it all. Maybe greed, maybe just the addiction of winning and the dopamine boost it gives you. I'm not sure but I know now I can't ever gamble in a healthy way.

Take it a day at a time and remember in a few years you will be debt free and hopefully have savings without having to gamble.
