Hi! I’m a 25 year old female my whole family are gambling addicts and they don’t even realise. I used to hate gambling had my first bet about two years ago and won xxx but that was the worst thing that happened to me. I’m now an addict constantly living in my overdraft. I’m ashamed. I’m trying to sort myself out I’m so young but my family even have gambling on the tele 24.7 watching slots on YouTube. So anyway that’s me hahaÂ

Sounds a lot like my family when it comes to drugs and alcohol. Do you live with them? That would be the first thing that needs to change if I were in a similar position. You could talk to them, but from experience it can take years to make someone change their habbits. Especially if they dont accept they have a problem.Â
Dont be ashamed living out of an overdraft. Thats easily fixed in time. Just dont let it go any further than that, loans, stealing etc.
Id say good luck but that doesnt feel like the best thing to say on here. Stay focussed and keep yourself occupied with new hobbies. Works well for me.
Think positive. You're young. It's not to late to start making changes for the better. l think you will succeed, if you start taking the right steps. Gamcare will help you.
