Hi all,

I am new to this entire world to be honest and only found out a month ago that my boyfriend has a serious gambling problem. I have since ensure he has attended GA Meetings, I have also arranged couselling for him to attend. Our relationship is near enough in tatters and every day is a HUGE struggle. He has since asked if I would take control of his finances and I am more than happy to but I don't know where to start - I'm only 21, 22 in April so am well out my depth. Any advice would be great. Thanks x

You are young. You have your whole life ahead of you. At 22 you should just about be able to have an idea about managing your own finances let alone take responsibility for another persons. If youre relationship is already in tatters then just cut him loose. Let someone else ruin their life by constantly picking up the pieces of a life full of lies and deceipt.

Hello there..
I suppose it really depends on how you feel about your boyfriend! Not just right now while he's trying to get help for his addiction but the everyday relationship you have together! Will you helping him improve the relationship? You can't really know right now..But we all deserve help regardless of the situation...it comes down to you and if it's what you really want to do at this point in your relationship, I'm sure there will be plenty of more struggles ahead..! Try and stay positive and take it one day at a time! Good luck
