Hello all.
On here for the first time. 5 years ago I hit rock bottom and admitted to my family and Girlfriend that I had a gambling problem. I took the actions of registering with gamstop and that did the trick. I stopped gambling, finances improved, lying stopped, relationship thrived.
January this year my gamstop expired and I thought I'd be able to gamble responsibly going forward...
I was wrong, slipped back into bad habits. Racked up debt and it's take over again.
I have registered again with Gamstop last week. I have found myself in the bookies a few times this week so today have registered with moses to stop that.
If I can stay clean I can repay my debt in a year comfortable but up to today they was only going to get worse rather than better.
Im not in a position where I can tell the gf and family as I'm not sure they will stand by me this time.
I just need to stop and sort this mess out.
I will be using this forum and chat room alot for support and advice.
Well done for coming on here, least you've found somewhere to turn to if you feel you can't talk to your family, I'm sure if it's just a blip in the road they would understand and if you can show you have taken the right steps to prevent it again. Just don't run the risk of them finding out a different way.
Everything you've done is positive so let's just focus on moving forward now 💪🏻💪🏻

Welcome to Gamcare forum
What a honest and open post where I can hear that you have really done well before with putting Gamstop in place. This shows that you can do this again, you have all the tools for success.
There is so much more help here now especially with Gamcare , support looks alot different these days. I can vouch for how amazing they can be to help both people experiencing gambling harm and their friends and family. I have supported a loved one through gambling harm and I know that continuing an open dialogue was really important to sustain the relationship. I wonder if there is anyone close to you that you can confide in?
Gamcare provide 24/7 helpline to call and so you can talk through your feelings at any time of the day and also gain information on one to one support in various other ways as well.
Stay strong and keep reflecting on how great life was without gambling harm.
Best wishes
