Hi,
Im 24 and have been dabbling in gambling every now and again for some time. It’s now got to the point where most money I have is being shoved straight into an online slot account. I’ve currently put most of my accounts on hold but unfortunately I always seem to find more sites to sign up to, take their sign up offer and end up putting money in. I’ve just spent £100 in a short session today and have realised it’s time to give it up. I really want to stop and tell my partner but I’m scared of the reaction I’ll receive. I have a daughter who I want to be able to take on trips, spoil and give her the best life possible. I hate my current situation and now I’ve finished that session I’m sat here thinking what am I doing? I’m sick of thinking that the next win is just around the corner and I will win back all the money I spent by putting just £10 more in but it will never break even. Currently reading through some of the stories on here is really helping that I’m not the only one. I want to stop right now and I’m determined to. I need to realise that there’s more to life than online casinos. I just wanted to share my story somewhere so if you have read this thank you for reading.Â
Thanks,
Hi.
I finally broke and pleaded for help on Wedmeaday after being in thousands of debt. My partner was upset I didn't reach for help earlier and has been totally supportive. Yesterday I had a melt down again and felt depressed to which I called my mum for help who again is going to help me get through this. J
Just remeber you are addicted , you don't want that life but its an addiction.  Please reach out and get help, it's a weight lifted and they can help you along the way, don't be scared please.

@sam23 Hi Sam,Â
Â
thanks for sharing. I’m going to try and gain the courage to tell her tonight after work. I’m scared of the outcome and the reaction but it needs to be done to move on. I’m luckily not in any debt through gambling but my concern is that it’s going to be worse and end up in debt. How are you getting on have you had any urges and how have you combatted them? I recently gained an interest in Lego which if I buy some may take my mind off wanting to gamble as it can be very time consuming and may even take up going to the gym in future.Â
Thanks,
Hi.
That's great, be strong and I'm sure she will have your back and help.
I am in huge debt with mine unfortunately, I manage to pay everything okay , but my thoughts were I'd rather spend 100s betting than on my kids.
Yes still have urge , and with the weekend of football and horses coming up it will be difficult, but I feel it getting easier. I just try to keep busy best i can, even started cleaning the house.
I feel very down and upset, and feel like a failure. I have a call with the doctor later today, hopefully get some sleeping pills to get a good kip.
That's a great idea I also enjoy lego so could give that a try perhaps also. I also enjoy triathlon so I have enetered a race for next year to get me moving and going out training.
@sam23 I hope you can fight this off and keep your mind busy to stay away from it all this weekend. I constantly feel down usually down to money troubles which is why I constantly go to gambling to get that win to sort me out for the month. I have a good paying job and mouths to feed and need to just realise what’s more important but it can be so difficult to overcomeÂ
Yes that sounds so familiar. But the mega win never comes.  We will be better from this.Â
I've decided to cancel today's holiday from work, so off to work to keep active.  Feel free to update me later how your conversation goes. You've got this

@sam23 The conversation went really well and she is just grateful I told her about it rather than bottling it so hopefully I can combat it before it gets worseÂ
Brilliant, well done. The hardest step is done.
Wish you all the best and good luck.
