Andy, is this you from Rethink....? It's Jane. Looks like you are doing okay. Your days are really stacking up. Keep going. Doing good too. Feel better and stronger. Strange not to post in such a while but to be honest, I feel better for it. We need to keep busy with other things as well as keeping our guard up. Got a second income and a real chance of making things work. Hopefully, we can really beat this now. It has gone on long enough. Any sign of anybody else from the ghostship?

Hi Jane, yes it is, i'm so glad you are still going strong, I am, feels good at the moment, but we know all too well we can slip at any time. Haven't heard of anyone from rethink yet, I thought i'd put a post up here when i realised the ship finally sunk, hoping someone would see it, and hey presto! Least this forum is properly moderated! Keep going

Andy

Hi Jane, almost crumbled today, it's sad because I've been doing so well, but thankfully I walked back out of the bookies without doing anything. Made me a little sick being in there. Hopefully won't do that again. It seems to me like you have cracked it Jane? I wonder how the rest of the gang are doing? You're not in correspondence with any of them?

Hey, Andy. So glad you changed your mind about gambling. I have come pretty close to it too. Again, stressful things happen in my life and my head screams go gamble! It is so stupid, but it is how I have trained my brain.

I would love to believe that I have cracked it, as you say, but let's just keep going and see how things go. A day at a time is all I can do and I think that is enough for anyone.

Really wish you well, Andy.

NIK has obviously been busy........... book release 8th December (Amazon ) ... ' When the fun stops. The Modern Plague of Gambling.'

Wishing him all the very best for his new book. Hopefully it will discourage others from gambling.

Andy , stay out of that b****y bookies! Don't spoil Christmas. You're better than that.

Bye

Jane, roulette as you know was my poison, when I last relapsed, I did hundreds and like you not one number came out for me. That was the final straw, how rigged they are. I've had enough. Enough of the gambling life, everything about it. Wouldn't mind a bit of money in my pocket to spend on myself and my family. Glad everything is going good Jane, youve had a rough year, especially last year from what I remember.

Hello Joanne! How are you, you still gamble free and doing ok?

Hi Andy,

I don't want to step on anyone's toes but I'm really pleased to see that both yourself and Jane are continuing to notch up those gamble-free days. Great stuff, keep going.

I've been struggling a bit these past couple of days, for some unknown reason the gambling demons seem hell bent on torturing me, determined to lure me back. I'm trying to remain strong, I know the score, they just set you up to clean you out and bring you down. .

Keep posting, it's great to read that you're doing well, perhaps some of the others may stumble across your headline 'Rethink Gambling' and pop by and let us know how they're doing. All the very best, Joanne

Joanne, it's very good to hear from you, I know people had differences and issues in the previous forum but I hope we can put them all aside and start again?

I hope the rest of the posters see this and post here, as like you said I would like to know how they are doing. Hopefully they they are still beating this horrible illness. I've been close to gambling in the recent weeks, just boredom, I can't seem to shake it off, no matter how busy I keep myself, It's still there, in the back of my mind to gamble, will it ever go?

Jane, Joanne keep posting, All the best.

Stay strong Andy. I'm afraid those gambling thoughts will keep trying to lure us back. Keep focused on your goal, getting to Christmas day gamble-free. Don't let them fool you into going back. Reaching Xmas gamble-free will be a far greater prize than winning a few measly quid down the bookies, that you will only go back and lose. We compulsive gambers can't win because we can't stop.

My biggest regret was going back last Boxing day. Stupidly thought the machines would pay out because it was Christmas. What a fool I was. Gambling has cost me 12 grand since then . If I hadn't folded and kept kept going that money would be in my savings account not the casinos. Aiming to be 100 days gf on Dec 3 , 128 days gf on New Year's day and hopefully have a few quid in the bank so that I can at least cover the cost of replacing a washing machine or whatever!

I'm trying to just visit this forum once a day, I don't want to repeat the mistakes of the last forum. Just to keep me on track.

Stay strong, don't throw away your great progress. One day at a time, if necessary 'one hour at a time'! Bye for now.

hahahah I've just stumbled across you ! I got your email, I've sent you some messages, perhaps you haven't noticed orperhaps you've got the good sense to ignore me (joke) ! I've relapsed badly, so feeling really disappointed.

Here's me accusing you of nipping down to that casino and you've been a good boy! Absolutely delighted to hear you've been keeping busy you handsome devil and remaining gamble-free! Really pleased for you Loser.

Andy . been thinking about you, hope all is well with you. Let us know how you are doing?

I very much hope NIK and Jane have reached 100 days gamble-free!

Hi Joanne,

Messages where? I will reopen the email account again as I didnt hear from you and had closed it. Hey just saw all your messages I will read and reply to them shortly. Now i wouldnt ignore you I was wondering how you were so thought I will open the email account because once it's closed for 90 days it's gone for good! You relapsed? You were nearly at 100 days right? When did you accuse me of nipping to the casino? lol Well Joanne I am playing with the big boys now and trust me dealing with thousands of dollars on the stock market. It can be dangrous but I have my limits and won't put anymore money into it. Much more fun than that bloody casino taking 1000 's of me everytime I go. This forum is hard to navigate I found it by a fluke. Joanne don't be down about relapsing keep in mind how much money you saved by stopping for so long. The real accomplishment now is getting back up, put measure's in place to not have easy access to money to gamble but most of all find the real reason you did gamble and try and work on the problem. I'll read your emails now. 🙂
